Misery

Someone once advised me to stay away from negative and depressing people in case they bring you down to their level. However what if you think of yourself as the negative one? What do you do then? What if you are afraid you will depress other people? Why on earth would you try to meet and befriend people if you know yourself to be depressing and miserable and are afraid of making them depressed too? It’s a vicious circle. You are depressed because of loneliness and other mental problems but can’t make friends because people don’t like lonely depressing people.Look at how people love to claim to be optimistic as if it makes them superior.
A post on here a while back seemed surprised that so many people thought themselves not liked as if it was just negative thinking and paranoia. I disagree. If there is something wrong with you lots of people really don’t like you. I knew plenty of people who disliked me at work and have always felt the same online. It’s always been a constant struggle. 90% of things don’t work. You lose confidence because of other people reactions to you, not because of your self belief. You keep trying, you keep failing, so your confidence collapses and you get worse. The 10% success rate does not build confidence. The 90% failure rate on the other hand destroys me and leaves me feeling utterly hopeless. Using SAUK has regularly taken my confidence away and made me feel worse, not better. It’s just like real life in that regards. Why would I be confident if there is no reason to be, if there is no evidence of success? Where do you get this hope from?

Hope and courage are already there within us. Reach inside, find it, nurture it. You're not a bad person so stop punishing yourself.

Maybe not but other people make me feel that I am.
