Devastated

I sat at the table and started to cry despite a young couple eating lunch to the side of me-tis true;couples really do sit in silence while hunched over their phones - and a large group of students sat opposite .

I am not a public crier (who is?) but I had cried in the taxi,the waiting room then I sniffled a bit more when I escaped to the corridor around the corner having to swallow my own snot.

I had felt nervous and gloomy all week and home stuff had caused my first...

Social Mishap Therapy? WTF?

Hofmann: The definition of a mental disorder is that it causes either significant distress, and/or significant interference in one's life. So you might be able to perform normally during daily life, but you're terribly distressed around these social situations, such as meeting people, giving speeches, or doing things in front of people. It causes you such a level of distress that causes you to want to get help.

Well at least I know I am mental then, over 400 and never had a relationship,...

More on Loneliness

Colleagues and family members of the murdered Labour MP Jo Cox have launched a campaign to tackle loneliness.Mrs Cox had started work on the cross-party campaign before she was killed in her constituency last year.The commission, in her memory, will work with 13 charities including Age UK and Action for Children to come up with ideas for change.They will provide findings as part of monthly campaigns on people such as new mums, carers and the elderly.

I really would like to talk to people and hear your stories, ive never done this before so i hope everyone would be open to this as it may seem a bit scary? but i also feel it would be easier since we are going through similar things?

Shy people, egocentric?

Shy people are egotistical, vain, self centred, narcissistic? I have heard all this before over the years and that part of having SA is all about your ego as you must think you are so important if everyone is looking at or thinking about you when you go out. I think this concept is mostly balls and heaps even more guilt on people often already racked with guilt for something they did not create or want. Its similar to the idea still having shyness past a certain age is all your own fault for not...
