Very good post!
"Forgive yourself. Be kind to yourself. Be your own best friend."
I think I will have a go at applying this to myself, though I know it will be very difficult I'm sure it will benefit me greatly.Posted 7th December 2013 at 13:35 by mike -

Very interesting post riccip. I have come across some of that before in a self help book. Perhaps louise hay, not sure. What makes me hate myself, hmm the fact I cant stop emotional eating despite knowing that is a big cause of my mood swings and sa, the fact I let fear hold me back in life, the fact I feel like a child at 31, the fact that it feels like there is a barrier between me and most other people that I cant break down, the fact I cant overcome this...and the list goes on. However it would be good instead of everyone saying things like 'you have to love yourself before anyone else will' saying 'to love/like yourself you need to do x,y and z...cos sometimes it is not obvious how you should love yourself. Personally I am sick of people telling me the obvious....why not tell me how to love myself/change my attitude/thoughts instead as just stating the obvious is really not gonna help much??

Thanks for the responses peeps!
Silver - Yes, I do understand where you're coming from. When I was scraping around at the bottom of the pit the last thing I needed was some smartarse telling me to love myself. But this article was only intended to get a few people thinking. Believe me I know it's not an overnight thing and I will be expanding on this in due course. There's so much to say it can be very difficult to put into words and even then I need to express it in bite-size chunks.
"the fact I feel like a child at 31" - What's wrong with that? I think it's brilliant. That's the subject of my next blog so maybe I can show you it's a good thing.
