i agree that all human beings must feel anxious occasionally.
our personalities & backgrounds differ,
so we seem to differ on which occasions cause anxiety.

isn't the root of all anxiety: a fear of the unknown, or
fear of rejection, or of failure??
i mean, if we never cared about results, we'd never be anxious, right??

the future & my past seem to be what ruins the present moment, for me.
i have difficulty 'seeing'(imagining) a good future,
& i find it too easy to dwell on miserable things in my past.

i think that my disappointment with myself, & lack of hope for change,
makes me dread getting up every day.

that's why i'm working a new habit of:
imagining myself having fun, being relaxed,& having everything work out ok.

i have to 'go there' in my heart& mind,
before i can believe in something better 4 myself.

i hope this helps some of u who may feel 'stuck', as i have.
my recent divorce, lifestyle changes, & feelings of loss--
have forced me 2 fight for life, or perish.

i'm alone except for friends like u. thanks 4 being here

    That sounds excellent advise mhealer3

    I recently was on a 6 session self confidence course....where the core of this was to tell yourself you already are what you wish to become....

    So i said to myself (because i'm starting a career as a support worker for peeps with brain injuries tomorrow and i'm absolutely pooing me pants!) is to say instead of 'i am hoping to become a great carer' you say 'i am a great carer' in the hope we will then grow into our new better shoes...

    Good luck with everything i am going through a divorce too and it's hard but with hope we will be just fine...
