    I dont think CBT can work if you are very self aware.

    If I am honest not really, but I haven't seeked the most help. I have found though that being around supportive, positive energy people actually helps for me, it may not sound like a magical pill but being around certain people can really make you calmer, show you how to approach life etc. Also taking control of the things that I can but also accepting the things that I am less able to control.

    No, I had cbt but at the time wasn't ready for it and also had a therapist who I would say didn't understand social anxiety. I actually feel most people don't understand social anxiety. They look to correct the behaviors but don't understand the mindset of an SA person so don't know how to show them how to relax, for example.

    What has currently helped me a bit is being around a person who always seems positive and is empathetic. For example, one day I had a down day and noticed all colleagues were avoiding me, however she was actually still comfortable to speak a bit to me. I have also learned from her to not take life too seriously, be more accepting.
