Re: New Beatles song
Probably better than the Stones' latest album, however... The Sick Boy part of me is going 'Aye it's no bad, but it's no great either, and deep down you know it's just *****.' :d

Re: Halloween anxiety

Re: Went to 'test drive' a car
:d I didn't mean banger in a derogatory sense. To my mind a banger is just an affordable older car. In fact my present car has probably been in banger territory for a number of years now!
I'd...

Re: Went to 'test drive' a car
^ Precisely biscuits, there are loads of valid reasons for the test drive, it highlights issues like that. :) And maybe issues you haven't even thought of.
I once had a Vauxhall Corsa courtesy...

Re: Went to 'test drive' a car
The funniest thing was that one of the reasons the salesman gave was that they don't have 'demonstrator' cars. Err... it's a used car dealer, of course they don't have demonstrators! All the cars are...

Re: Went to 'test drive' a car
Quite! Could have saved me the trip. The daft thing is, I went to look at another car today at another dealer, and the same thing happened! Refused the test drive which I'd booked over the phone....

Went to 'test drive' a car
So, encroaching rust issues mean my 20-year-old car is coming to the end of its time with me. As a keen driver I want to get something sporty, so went to look at an example of the rather gorgeous...

Re: You know you're getting old when..
I always like to watch The Snowman on Christmas Day. For me it's not so much the flying snowman but the scenes with the boy and his parents that get me... athough of course the ending is perfect....

Re: How do you feel about Zoom?
I've been perfecting mine for years. :thumbpur:
I also enjoy staring out the window at the world outside, and stubbornly refusing to be drawn into boring discussions.

Re: Vaccine done
I'm no good with injections so expect as usual I'll have to take some air in the park next to my doctor's surgery until I stop feeling sick. I'm low priority so probably won't get the call for some...

Re: How do you feel about Zoom?
We had our end-of-year-quiz thing over Teams, and I actually found it far more enjoyable sitting in the comfort of my home office. Certainly better than having to sit in a noisy crowded room....

Re: How do you feel about Zoom?
We use Teams for work - can be a useful way of communicating, but I refuse to have the camera on - my (partially true) excuse is that I have to have the laptop placed sideways to fit on my desk at...

Re: Are any of you funny about birthdays?
Yes absolutely.
I find it difficult, partly because I never do anything - I haven't celebrated it with 'friends' since about the age of 11. So I tend to keep it secret.
This year I'm 30....

Re: What book(s) are you reading at the moment?
I've read several of King's books over the years (Black House, Duma Key, Misery, The Running Man). Getting toward the end of this, and would say it's the best of those I've read.
If you've never...

Re: How important is your mobile 'phone to you?
They still have them - on every motorway there is an orange phone box every mile.
On any other road you'd just have to find the nearest place with a phone, as you say.
Really for anyone who has...
