Does anyone feel they'll never move on from parts of their life?

I had a happy childhood, though my parents argued constantly. This is what I believe led to my major anxiety from then onwards, but as a cause I missed 95% of high school experiences and was even a...

Re: How'd you change as you age?

I moreorless have my internet personality saved on forums from the last decade or so. I was a rampant shitposter between the ages of 15-20 and used to spam talk all the time on MMORPGs. I got told to...

Re: How'd you change as you age?

I think it's important to remember to do the best for yourself too, so you can be a good example.

Re: How'd you change as you age?

How old are you now? Also, I read you have a kid so I'm wondering if that didn't make you feel more 'adult'. I kinda feel like a semi-adult now I've had some responsibilities but not much.

Re: Dating with social anxiety

Have you tried therapy? I know the issue for most women is while they can meet people easier then guys, meeting the 'right' kind of people is tougher.

But it sounds like therapy would help this....

How'd you change as you age?

I'm curious since I started on Social Anxiety websites when I was 13 and only really feel I've mostly beaten it just before I turned 24. Sadly my life has been littered with chronic physical issues...

Re: If you’d had different parenting, would you be ‘normal’

I think my low self-esteem was down to my parents arguing, everything spiralled out of control after 11 for me.

I didn't believe I was capable of doing anything and while my Mum said 'I can do...

Re: Does anyone else constantly check on the past? (old posts, diary notes, hobbies)

I spent lots my adolescence too afraid of everything, though I desired friends etc.

I think I've improved my social skills drastically but don't have the genuine deep-desire (or maybe I'm not...

Re: Does anyone else constantly check on the past? (old posts, diary notes, hobbies)

I think for me online therapy will be a little pointless, though I hope to get therapy once things settle... with my luck they'll be fully booked due to post-corona. I should've been on therapy last...

Re: What was the worst period of your life?

Right now :( I had a breakdown in January and my motivation has been sapped since.

Between 16-24, 22/23 were better than 18, but the lack of urgency or awareness I have now is super harsh. Since...

Re: Does anyone else constantly check on the past? (old posts, diary notes, hobbies)

I was going to get therapy privately (as I was rejected by the University health service for complex issues, then the University-associated psychotherapy for not complex enough issues) but that fell...

Does anyone else constantly check on the past? (old posts, diary notes, hobbies)

Okay, so since the age of 16 my life has increasingly spiralled out of control. I like looking at old posts to remember how I used to be.

Re: Do you ever worry that you'll regret not having kids?

I think having kids to avoid loneliness, or having kids without a plan to guide them is awful.

I grew up relatively average, but my parents just argued and it gave me anxiety. I've had to find...

Re: Swipe-based dating applications use and its association with mental health outcom

When I used dating apps I would occasionally get matches, I had a few dates which was nice too. How normal do I sound?

I'm not particularly handsome or whatever though so I didn't expect too much...

Re: I feel soo burned out.

I mean the kissing girl part is extremely shallow, she was very drunk and it was her friends who said to do it. I kinda felt nothing about it, I think since I have so many issues it's very hard to...

Re: Started University - but now I feel things are slipping away like normal.

I feel what hurts the most is that I'm 23 with just a void in life. I think I could deal with it if people I cared about accepted me now, but I fear they won't in the end.

To be honest I don't...

Re: Started University - but now I feel things are slipping away like normal.

After the hugely stressful period I ended up feelng burned out and 'dulled ' in emotions.

Then eventually I ended up a little more balanced out, so things are going better than they were. I feel...
