Re: Would you notice a speeding camera flash in daytime?

Try not to worry about it. It's out of your hands now.

Not seeing a flash doesn't mean much either. A modern camera (and I expect most of the 20mph ones are) would not require a flash to operate.

Re: Redundancy

Sorry to hear about your redundancy. I went through redundancy a few years ago so know what a horrible feeling it can be.

For me, it was very unnerving and unsettling, and came as a shock at the...

Re: How do you wash your clothes without ruining them?

I dry my clothes using a dehumidifier instead of a a tumble dryer.

It takes longer, but the clothes don't get cooked.

Re: Forum incredibly slow and barely usable?

Thanks for the feedback.

About an hour after I posted this it sped up and became usable.

6pm today the site was barely usable. Constant refreshing in an attempt at accessing pages.

Right...

Forum incredibly slow and barely usable?

Is anyone else experiencing incredibly slow access to the forum at the moment or in recent days?

Over the past week or longer, there have been many days when the site is almost unusable for me. ...

Re: anyone else's life really different to how you pictured it because of SA?

Totally f*cked it up, but then from my teens onwards, that's pretty much how I pictured it anyway.

I've done OK in my professional life so far, all things considered, but still feel a huge sense...

Re: Over eating - due to emotions

I used to overeat.

I've been more experimental with my diet over the past year or so, and for a couple of months at the beginning of the year, I possibly under-ate. I don't know if my stomach...

Re: Back to square one :(

Do you have any interest in playing sport?

I joined a tennis club just over a year ago, and wish I'd joined many years ago.

Physically the exercise has made a massive difference in how I feel,...

Re: age first started antidepressants

Around 23 then 28 (Seroxat), then 33 (Citalopram). So a five year pattern, which I broke by not being prescribed anything else since.

Re: Social Anxiety in University

I can really identify with you, this sounds just like me 24 years ago.

Being afraid of entering the kitchen when anyone else was in it, only using the kitchen when I knew most of my hall...

Re: How often do you wash your hair?

Whenever I shower, so usually once or twice a day.

I just wash my hair with water though, having given up on shampoo last year.

Re: Mobile networks

As mobile coverage can vary greatly from one area to another, and across the networks, it might be worth you trying either prepay or a 30 day SIM only contract before you sign up for a longer...

Re: Really fed up

For many years, I'd spent most of the time feeling drained and overwhelmed.

Last summer I joined a tennis club and have forced myself to play two to three times most weeks. It was a struggle at...

Re: Do you find it awkward to say positive things..?

Yes, both with positive and to a lesser extent, negative too.

I'm not good with compliments, either giving or receiving them. I worry that any compliments I give would come across as being...

Re: Paying to listen to music?

Both good services.

There are others you shouldn't rule out such as Deezer.

If you have a mobile phone, you might get some of these free or at a discount as a perk. I think EE have stopped...

Re: Are Standalone MP3 Players..............

I'm not sure how much they let you download, but the pay versions of the streaming services usually enable you to download stuff and play off-line, so lack of WiFi becomes less of a problem.

I...

Re: Are Standalone MP3 Players..............

I use both.

iPod as my main player, and Deezer/Spotify/Amazon

It's a shame Apple killed the iPod classic without releasing an iPod touch with 160GB+ capacity. My classic must be about 9 years...

Re: Dieting and exercise :)

Lost a lot of weight - yes, nearly 2.5 stone since May. And 1 stone of that is since Christmas, which is when I started experimenting with eating less.
Gained muscle - a little, although that's not...

Re: Coping with SA at work

I don't cope with it at work, or anywhere really.

I usually keep social contact at work to a minimum. I avoid it when possible, and try to keep it minimal when it can't be avoided.

I...

Does exercise help with my SA? No, not at the moment, but it definitely helps with overall mood and feeling better generally.

Until a few months ago I did very little exercise. I joined a tennis...
