Re: National anthems

Reminds me of the time when Talksport were running a segment on the lack of national pride shown by certain England players due to their failure to sing the national anthem. I think it was Darren...

Re: Football season 2012/2013

Like you said history will but the fans won't and that's what matters.

If I was an Arsenal fan I would be absolutely furious. Call me naive but I honestly didn't think he'd go to another Prem...

Re: London 2012 Olympics

What a great day for team GB. Goes without saying, outstanding effort from our gold medallists, but what a couple of great performances too from Jamieson in the 200 breaststroke (who took over a...

Re: London 2012 Olympics

Apart from the sprints in athletics (always a good spectacle) I'll only be taking an interest in the events which are over quite quickly and at which GB are competing for medals, mainly some...

Re: Euro 2012

Not really. Aside from the fact that 3 goals is a pretty paultry tally for a top scorer (which is bad enough) but, worse still, all of his goals were irrelevant; 2 goals against the whipping boys of...

Re: Euro 2012

Well done Spain. Saved the best for last and finally produced an end product to the possession. Hope that has shut Pirlo up. Just get on with your football mate, keep your mouth shut and leave the...

Re: Euro 2012

It pains me to see England playing like that. The gulf in class was such that it was like a League 1 side playing Utd. You cannot fault our resilience, endeavour and organisation but when it comes to...

Re: Euro 2012

We are so limited it's painful to watch at times. Tbh I'm a purist and as we're unlikely to win it I'd actually prefer to get knocked out at the group stage playing lovely attacking football rather...

Re: Euro 2012

Thought Italy were excellent yesterday. Not only did they defend well, as we expected, but they posed a threat in attack too, breaking in numbers and supporting the 2 up front. It was a more open...

Re: Euro 2012

They're normally deployed sweeping up behind the 2 centre backs. It usually works best when the opposition are a v good counter attacking side with pace through the middle but rather than being...

Re: Euro 2012

This might not seem such a bad idea because Spain play a short, quick pass and move game through the middle and playing a sweeper can watch and combat those runners playing one to two's on the edge...

Re: Euro 2012

Apparently Spain aren't playing a recognised striker. Maybe they're thinking let's not get beaten in this opening game. Bizzare though. Be interesting to see how they line up.

Re: Euro 2012

Apart from the last 20 mins it wasn't a particularly exciting game. V cautious and chess like. I think the fact that Holland lost was a big factor in the way it played out. I actually think Portugal...
