Re: Anyone looking forawrd to the slave labour that the government will be making us

Have to say, I'm with Dory on this. The hours seem OTT for the amount of money on offer but I think it's a good idea to do some voluntary work whilst you're seeking work. It could build experience...

Re: Are your pets getting freaked out by the fireworks?

My cat is currently hiding underneath the settee! She is quite easily upset so we just leave her alone in her hiding spot until it stops. It's the same every year.

Re: Gaming talk

Currently immersed in Fallout New Vegas on the 360. The bugs! They're the most disappointing and frustrating aspect of the game. When something unexpected happens, I'm never sure whether it's...

Re: Rate the last film you watched (2)..

Inception was fab! 8/10. not a 9 or a 10 simply because of the amount of explanation of the concept there was but that's inevitable in a film like that. The music and directing was superb.

Re: Bathroom Door?

LOL!

We don't have lock on our bathroom door, though I wish we did. It would stop those awkward moments when, at 3am in the morning, my half-asleep dad almost catches a horrifying sight of me on...

Re: Hairdressers

Been for my haircut today actually. Felt quite nervous about it last night because I haven't been in the best mood lately but it was fine if a little uncomfortable. I've been to the same stylist for...

Re: Only ever good at first impressions but then it all goes downhill

That's me in a nutshell. I start out quite chatty and enthusiastic but after that, I shut down a bit and go back into my shell. I think it's a protective thing. I believe that the more someone knows...

Re: negative/obsessive thought patterns

I get plagued by these. I seem to go through phases. One particular theme will bug me for awhile, then that will subside slightly and something else will take it's place. It's very annoying.

Re: Unwell Puddy Cat!?

Hi fellow cat lover! How old is your cat? It might be the change in weather as my cat sleeps a bit more than usual now that it's gone colder. But best thing to do is take him to the vets if...

Re: Rate the last film you watched (2)..

Coraline - 7/10

Very good movie. Great music and animation. Would've scored higher except the ending seemed a bit too easy.

Re: back to work after years out

Hey, are you me? :eekpurple God, I could've written that. I'm 26 too and having the same problem with inexperience. Difference is that I've just finished a job (with great relief) as I'm really...

I'm starting my first module next month. Quite looking forward to it. I've never studied with the OU before so I'm going to see how this module goes and then, if I like it, I plan to work towards a...

Re: What book you are currently reading?

It is rather hard going. I have to read it in small bites otherwise I'd get too miserable. It does make me want to keep readin tho'. I'm not expecting a happy ending. ;)

Re: I've hit rock bottom

Hi Josh,
Sorry to hear your having a really hard time of it right now. I've been in a similar position where I've isolated myself from everyone I knew and was perfectly happy with that. I've also...

Re: Started new job

Hmm, sounds like they aren't the best people to work for. They certainly don't seem like the understanding type. Do they really expect you to know everything after only 2-3 weeks? Seems...

Re: SA and Jobs/Careers

I'm in a bit of a similar situation. I'm currently unemployed and "looking" for a job but I doubt my ability to do the jobs that I apply for. In the last year, I've had two jobs which have challanged...

Re: How to stop zoning out and feeling distant?

Hm, I get this too. Apart from making a conscious effort to concentrate really hard and stay in the present without mentally wandering off, I'm not sure what to do either. It's very annoying.

Re: Staff night out

When I worked in a vets, one of the nurses would just say that she didn't like going out and drinking so she didn't go. She'd go out for a meal or something, but if people were then hitting the pubs...
