I would definitely say it out load to your closet friends and see there reaction and then maybe later if they bring it up again start inviting others and then facebook/email everyone just to say hope...

God its even worse when I have been drinking and due to alcohol may have acted a little merry the next day I am kicking myself about how I acted, and paranoid the next time I see people.
