what makes you think your friends dont care about you?In my experience, your friends probably do care about you, im sure if you were out and you were getting beaten up they would intervene and help out say, but if you are staying in and not mixing with them, most people will probably assume you want to be left alone, and won't make an effort to contact you.
I think it's very rare, especially if your male with male friends, to have friends who will truly selflessly care about you, in my experience most friends will be your friends aslong as you're fun to be with, go out with, as soon as your not fun and having problems, most people will not meet come round and see you, unless they get something out of it, ie they've got no one else to see, maybe thats cynical but I think it's true, more so when you're a teenager.
can you at least game and party chat with them on xbox live? least that way you're still keeping in touch.
