Default Re: Anyone want to write but can't?

Write all the time. SA and the life of a writer go hand in hand. Just finished a creative writing course. Very SA challenging reading your stuff out in front of 14 others and then having them all critiquing it, but it was absolutely invaluable and my writing has come on in leaps and bounds. I used to think I was a decent writer...until I did that course.

The OP's comments certainly ring a chord with me. Like Noel Gallagher, I used to only read non-fiction "because fiction is just made up" and seemed an utter waste of my life, but now I devour it because you can't write fiction if you don't read it. Reading widely is the best education a writer can give him/herself.
