I know that some of us here may find it a bit abstract and difficult to do, but from my own experience (though I haven't put as much effort into it as you) these techniques can be very effective.
I'd like to add that today's CBT is helpful as well, but sometimes it can have the perverse effect of
getting you to concentrate even more attention on negative things and thoughts, than you would usually. Your meditation-based technique is much healthier from that point of view, since the result is to be less involved with thoughts... I'm sure you agree?
