Growing up in the 80s it was mandatory to have net curtains on my street. Whereas now everyone seems to have modern blinds. Including myself. Idk, it might be the nostalgia typing, but I miss the days when I used to see a row of curtains twitching. And the best twitchers of them all were my neighbours Rita and John. Then one day we got burgled and Rita and John gave us a blow by blow account of what they saw:
Rita: I was saying to John, that seems strange that 2 men are carrying out your TV and figurines.
My neighbors said they wanted to talk to me about my bad home security habits. So I said “Sure, my door is always open.”
