***8230; when you realise you're not invincible! I had a fall last week in Newfoundland and cut my head open on some rocks and it's the first time I've ever felt that I might hurt myself seriously. Fortunately, despite the heavy bleeding (head wounds do tend to bleed excessively), there was no concussion, just lots of grazes and bruises and a deep cut a few millimetres from my eye which made me feel that I could have lost it. It's a reminder that I may have to start slowing down in the future!
