No I applied last September, missed the medical assessment (stupid I know, got it confused with the date my sick note ran out), ESA then stopped completely in Dec, couldn't claim anything until next assessment date was given in late March. .
I can't backdate the JSA either because they don't take into account delays regarding other benefits, you have to have actively been looking for work and fulfilling all the terms of a JSA agreement in that time, which I wasn't because I didn't think I'd be part of that working life again.
I hope it works out now though, as long as they don't force me into a work programme I'll do what I'm supposed to.
