* A quick google shows it is fairly common. There's probably a market for this. That's it, then; I shall hang around hospital bins, & consort with night staff.

What I never understood was if the placenta bit - the third phase of labour as they call it - hurts like the first and second phases do. I'm kinda of hoping the placenta just kinda plumps itself out like a really big poo and that it's somehow a satisfying release (like a really big poo) rather than paining like **** like the baby. I mean, it's squidgier, right? So it can't be quite as bad?
