okay, firstly, i don't accept i was being rude, and that certainly wasn't my intention. i was merely expressing my honest opinion and i stand by EVERYTHING i said.

secondly, many years ago i used to be the web editor of SAUK so i know exactly what it's like to volunteer my time maintaining the website.

if the webmaster asks me to send them a screenshot then i shall, but all they need to do is look at the pages i mentioned and try out the web browsers i also mentioned.

i mentioned IE, firefox, safari and chrome because they are the four most commonly used web browsers with a combined 99% of the UK market share!

as for the UK market share of firefox, according to wikipedia it's 15%. i said 1 in 10 - okay, i was wrong, i should have said 1.5 in 10.

as i said above, i used to be the web editor of SAUK. if i was in that position now then i most certainly WOULD appreciate hearing people's honest opinions, and would welcome criticism especially from people who didn't like the site or reported that it didn't look right in their web browser.

surely, pointing out errors on the website is constructive!

Thanks for all of your comments and just to let those of you using Chrome and Safari know, I shall be having a look at the issues raised.
That being said, it would be best, if you have a problem to message me personally with such details as:
Operating System
Browser and Version
Screen Resolution
Screenshots if possible would be very useful and exact descriptions of the problems experienced.

As for the issue of stats, the breakdown is quite interesting for this site in particular:
Internet Explorer - 53%
Firefox - 32.4%
Safari - 7.4%
Chrome - 4.4%
Opera - 0.91%
And the rest are made up of handheld devices, games consoles and other lesser used browsers.
Compared against another website that I am aware of, that has less tech-savvy visitors, the stats for Safari and Chrome are far higher on here.
What I hadn't counted on was the sheer number of tech-savvy individuals on SAUK, and the growth of Chrome in the past 6 months, so I apologise for missing you guys out.

Ah the honest opinion excuse, an oldy but a goody. Just because this is your honest opinion doesn't mean you get to express it anyway you like and be damned with how it effects anyone else. Your opinion could have be phrased in any one of a hundred ways, each of which would have communicated how you felt but in a nicer more polite way without hurting anyone's feelings. But you didn't do that, you were rude, plain and simple.

that's not true at all, there are a lot more factors involved in how a website renders than just the browser, things like, the version number of the browser you are using, operating system, screen resolution, font size, any custom chrome the user may have and lots more besides so just trying it out in the browser will not necessarily replicate the issue that you are seeing

you missed what i was saying entirely, what i was pointing out is that you mention problems with 2 browsers who have a far less market share like this-

and then you go on to say this about firefox (which has a larger market share than the 2 browsers you just mentioned)

see that bit about "but only 1 in 10 people use firefox", that is what i pointing to, if this was constructive criticism you wouldn't have even put that, but no you wanted to belittle the fact that it works in firefox by saying that it doesn't have many users even though you were complaining that it looks naff in 2 browser who have EVEN LESS USERS THAN FIREFOX COMBINED!

Anyone else have issues while browsing on their phone?

The old site was quick and easy to navigate whereas this new site is painfully slow to load. That however is not the biggest problem. It takes literally minutes to scroll from the bottom of the page to the top, which I have to do often as it always puts me there when I click on anything

I did like the site when I viewed it on a pc so well done there but 99% of the time im using wifi on my phone or was using wifi on my phone more like, there isn't enough hours in the day to keep up with any threads so I probably wont be on this site anymore

Hi UKshadow06,

You can access the SAUK discussion board directly via the following link:

http://www.social-anxiety-community.org/db

This should revert your viewing of the discussion board to how it used to look via your phone. I think there is a link above the discussion board inset on the new website which also allows you to access the discussion board directly if you click it.

It's like that for me too, makes my eyes go all funny, a bit like the early stages of when I'm having a migraine. Here's a screenshot from Internet Explorer.

It works great on my iphone/ipod touch. I suppose it might be a browser issue.

I for one am extremely grateful for the update, especially to the chat section which is nothing short of top notch and looks much better.

I know things wont please everyone, but can people be a tad constructive and, if they don't like something, suggest a way in which they'd like it improved (not that their opinion will necessarily be used, but at least it's constructive!).

my only criticism on the new site (not that I look at the front page much anyway) is the time it takes to load over a slow connection and the fact it crashes my netbook, not sure why, it's a fairly typical windows XP 1Gb Ram 1.66GHz intel Atom affair, it does it with both IE6 and Firefox3.5.7

Works reasonably smoothly on my laptop with Windows7, AMDathlonX2 and 3Gb ram, using firefox 3.5.7

I've bookmarked the webform separately so I go directly to that anyway
