I agree. Baked beans are one of my most feared foodstuffs. I last had some about 3 years ago - when I say had "some" it was actually only about two beans - and I had to swallow them whole!

there was an edition of coach trip where some Brit tourists ordered some baked beans in Germany or something because they missed baked beans. That'd probably be me. I eat baked beans on their own sometimes. :D

Yes. I have a problem with the large cans however. I usually have baked beans with a cooked breakfast and a large can is therefore used for two servings. The problem is however, the first serving gets all the delicious tomato sauce and the second serving is left dry with very little sauce.

I also have an irrational hatred of the Heinz fridge packs.

Yeah I likes them with a fried breakfast. Gotta be Heinz though. Does anyone else add a bit of butter to them? Makes them nice and creamy

Try storing the cans upside-down on the shelf.

I'm not so keen on the sauce and sometimes dump the can's contents in a collandar (sp?) to drain it off.

Hehe, yes indeed. You get a kind of 'plug' of drier beans at the top and then sloppy beanage underneath.
