Re: How do you find going uphill?
How? In a car? On a bus? Skiing? Clinging to the roof of a stolen Russian tank?

Re: How do you find going uphill?
Physically going up hill? As in walking running cycling up a hill? I like it and enjoy it especially with cycling. I remember when I first started cycling certain routes with hills would feel really daunting then after I few months cycling I realised that I was going up those bits without noticing they were hills any more.
Cycling through the new forest one day going past a young couple who were out cycling she was having a right go at him saying it was too steep etc then I ride past them not even breaking a sweat and she looked totally confused. I don't think we appreciate what our bodies are really capable of. |

No complaints here, though i've had a lot of practice over the years.

Re: How do you find going uphill?
Has anyone walked up the hill to get to Parc Guell in Barcelona? Now that is a steep hill.
I'm fine with walking up hills. Walking down hills is what I find hardest because of that feeling of wanting to run but not land flat on your nose. |

Re: How do you find going uphill?
Say, if I only could I'd be running up that hill with no problems.
Unfortunately I'm a bit slower than I used to be. The hill from the station to my house is kind of steep so I'm used to a little bit of a climb when I go anywhere. The hill up to Crystal Palace is even worse. I certainly won't be running up it. |

Re: How do you find going uphill?
I do quite a lot of hill walking, so walking uphill is not a problem for me - in fact it's maybe the only thing I'm actually quite good at! Although that said, my knees are just starting to feel that bit creakier these days. Age doesn't come on its own unfortunately

Re: How do you find going uphill?
As long as the car is in a low enough gear, it's not a problem. I know no other way.

There's a hill near me I call Bryn Bastard because getting to the top literally destroys me. I don't know what the angle of it is but I swear it's like 70 degrees. If it wasn't en route to a nice cafe I wouldn't bother. |
