Wow theres actually quite a bit of snow. I thought it was just the news people going over the top again but its quite thick out there and meant to go on till like 2am i think.
I love how you can see really well at night in the snow. Just going to go and take my dogs for a walk about now =). |

I cannot believe how light out it is. Actually it kind of reminds me of The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Creepy.

Re: The Weather Thread!
It only started snowing here in east london a few hours ago. It hasn't stopped at all since it started which was about 5 hours ago and there is a lot falling. I haven't seen it fall like this ever! I hate snow so much as snow = ice and ice = slipping in front of people.
I am okay as long as it doesn't settle and turn to ice.... Otherwise I have a fear of snow and it is such bad timing as I am moving homes this week. |

Re: The Weather Thread!
it seems to have put me in a good mood, I went for a walk just now and bumped into someone I used to know a bit who I normally ignore or just say hello to but today we had a nice little conversation instead.
I don't think it snowed much more during the night here but there's still plenty about and the views are quite nice where I live. |

Re: The Weather Thread!
Was horrible to drive last night in Liverpool. We had freezing rain. By the time we arrived at my girlfriend's flat everything was encased in ice. Cars, trees, walls, pavements all covered in ice and icicles hanging off everything. Hard to walk without slipping everywhere.

Re: The Weather Thread!
Lastest NAE (12z) (North Atlantic European) model shifts snow 100miles east to where it was original forecast makes east Midlands the "sweet spot for snow" with much of the South/South East seeing light snow also for tonight. Some places could see as much as 10+cm while other places could see a slight dusting.
For my neck of the woods rain turns to snow over night, could see freezing rain like a few places have up north today and then snow falling on top of that. If that was to come off it would be very dangerous come morning. So hoping that doesn't happen. I want to see some snow though! If it does snow could see 1-5cm widely not happy as 10cm was originally forecast. .. The models are changing with every run so nothing is set in stone so don't take this as gospel. A lot of people could wake up to a surprise covering of snow come morning. Me? I'll be up all night watching radar.. |

Re: The Weather Thread!
Freezing rain is ruthless stuff. Really scary. I've not seen it that often, but we've had it here in Liverpool twice in 6 days. Last Saturday in South Liverpool cars were encased in ice and the pavements, walls, trees and buildings were coated too. I was glad to park up at my girlfriend's place and get off the roads.
This morning I was back in North Liverpool and it was -1 degree with rain. I almost went flying on the ice on the drive and the rain was freezing as it hit my car. I'd hate to be riding a bike/motorbike in this. Last time I rode a bike and got caught in freezing rain I ended up flat on my back in the middle of the road as the wheels went from under me on a side road coated with ice. I'd rather have the snow, it's actually safer. Just realised, I'd already posted about the ice on Saturday. |

Re: The Weather Thread!
Supposed to get snow today and tomorrow I think. But I don't want it to snow! I have to travel by train tomorrow from South West to East and I really do want to get to where I'm heading.

Re: The Weather Thread!
Make it snow!! Damn, got excited when this morning I was told to expect 10cm locally. But then I checked later and it says 2-5cm only Would have meant I wouldn't have to go to work tomorrow....
