Re: Football Season 18/19
^ That is quite a glorious idea
They've put some of the live F1 races onto Sky One already this season Unfortunately that is currently worse than watching paint dry Reckon they'd get good viewing figures for semi's and the final Even if they put it on some right mickey mouse channel like Blaze |

Exceptional seasons for City and Liverpool, i doubt we'll see a higher points tally for two teams, just amazing. |

Re: Football Season 18/19
The 'Who has the most money as a club is most likely to win the league' state of affairs is not good for football. It certainly makes it difficult to judge how good a manager is . For example how would Guardiola and Klopp do if they were managing Cardiff and Huddersfield ?

Re: Football Season 18/19
Yep, agree, it's a pretty sad state of affairs. Obviously there's plenty of cream to go around and it's only football anyway, so what's it matter.
Another concern is the 'downing of tools' mentality that seems to be becoming quite popular amongst players and even whole squads. Leicester only won the league a few years ago with just three exceptional players and a team that just kept rolling on. Wolves came up and finished 7th this year. Every player in the league is as fit as a fiddle, so it's not about athletic superiority. How Chelsea weren't in the race for the title i don't know - look at that squad, it's ridiculous. |

Re: Football Season 18/19
People ask the question "what would they do at Cardiff and Huddersfield?" , but they are where they are for a reason, Klopp was the last man to beat Bayern to the German title and got Dortmund to a CL final on a limited budget, he also started out at a lower German side.
With Guardiola it's harder to judge how good he really is as he's managed the top dog in every country, but a lot of managers have come in at the big teams and failed miserably, so it isn't that easy. |

Re: Football Season 18/19
They'll generally go where the money is, and they won't want to tarnish their reputations by failing at the lower-end clubs - i mean, where do you go if you get relegated? You certainly won't be getting anywhere near the top teams for a good while.
