Default Where to go to buy website domain name.

I am not sure where is the best place to buy a domain address from so I can create my blog on my own website. I am OK to pay up monthly. I would say I am on an Intermediate scale with tech and would like some advanced features to be available. Any thoughts from those who are more I. T. savvy than I am?

If you just want a domain name to redirect to a website/blog you've made elsewhere then namecheap.com is affordable and reliable (I use them and it's only ever cost a few pounds per year). Most of the main blog publishing websites (Wordpress, Blogger, Weebly, Wix, etc) offer their own domain name registration service too, which would be easier to set up if you don't really know what you're doing since everything would be in one place. They can be significantly more expensive than registering one elsewhere, but they sometimes include a domain name for free or relatively cheap if you're purchasing another plan with them (though they could increase the price later once the plan ends).

Geocities closed in 2009.

^ I agree with namecheap.com, I use them too. Though my 'website' is just a Raspberry Pi in my flat with no public content on.

Hmm maybe he meant CompuServe

There's always promo codes flying around for namecheap so don't pay full price.
Sometimes you can double up the discount going via topcashback.co.uk.
I should really give you my namecheap referral so I get a nice kickback.
But I don't know it. Regardless you owe me $2!

I'm heartbroken to find that eggboy.com is taken.

I'd love to have my own website. I don't know how to code, or even remember how HTML works, or have any design skills, or have anything to put on it, but it'd be nice. Could just put a countdown on it and pepper a few links here and there to generate interest, and then have nothing happen when it runs down.
