^^ thanks. I got back yesterday at 6pm. I've been half-asleep most of today. But it's also very hot here, and now there is a high-pitched beep from the corridor outside... :-(

I went for not being able to sleep to sleeping all the time. Bith are annoying, I wish I could just sleep midnight until 8am.

I fell asleep mid evening then woke up a few hours later when my husband went to bed. Tossing and turning for hours at a time is no fun especially when your other half is sleeping beside you like a baby

Like you, I will feel absolutely awful for much of the day or I'll end up napping which means at bedtime it's the same old rigmarole all over again

Btw, you aren't rubbish or useless!!!

I'm not tired in the slightest. Finished my book, it was quite good. Got work at 6am, so maybe should just stay up.

Had about 7.5 hours last night but it didn't feel restful at all

It was one of those where it feels like you just close your eyes and open them again a second later but it's morning.

Yep I eventually nodded off, but then woke up earlier than I would have done because I wanted to wish my son good luck before he went off to collect his exam results.

The Lorazepam always helps me sleep but I've been trying to wean myself off it slowly so it's never a good thing if I take an extra pill - but I was desperate

Try using a wet towel if you want it cold

I can't ever sleep with something on top of me when it's hot, it feels horrible.

When I was a kid, I needed to be covered at l times to protect me from the monsters and burglars, now I'm grown up I just put a lock on my bedroom door and keep it locked at night.

Blackout blinds are good for keeping the heat out in summer. Just leave the windows, blinds and curtains closed all day for a cool room. I've been quite chilly in my room the last few days, especially in the mornings.
