^^ I'd been worried there's been some calamity and she's finally popped and rocketed to the moon! (Hopefully more likely she's gone for a little break somewhere and is ok.)

I went a bit far with the beard trimmer last night

I now look 12, I'm nearly 34 but I'm fairly sure I'd get ID'ed at the moment, if I was more adventurous(or bored) I'd go round seeing if anyone would ID me out of desperation

How people can just cut you out of their lives. An online friend I've known for over 5 years is ghosting me, and I don't know why or what I've done. It's really making me sad. I also just want to know they are okay in case they are going through some shit.

^ I've had something very similar happen recently, not with someone I've known anywhere near as long as that, but still after exchanging emails almost daily for months. It is disappointing, frustrating and sad when you don't know why they stopped talking to you, and a little worrying when you've opened up and told them some quite personal things. There's nothing you can really do about it though.

Thanks Jen, sorry to hear you know the feeling also. Yeah I can't really do anything about it but it's just a shame when there is so much history.
Do I just let them be or should I still try checking in on them occasionally?

It's probably worth checking in now and then, although I don't think it would be a good idea to make that too often. After things went quiet with mine I sent a happy birthday email to show I was still thinking about her, but didn't get a response. So I'll just leave it now. There's probably no point if you haven't had a response after a few messages have been ignored.

I feel bad (and have felt bad for a while) about falling out of contact with someone just over a year ago. I hate for them to think I lost interest in them, or got better friends or something, because the truth is more that I just stopped knowing how to communicate with people. Thinking about it this is the most isolated I've ever been in my life, the idea of having even a single online friend feels beyond reach, and what's more I don't think I even want to reach for it, I just want to shrink into absolute obscurity. Even posting occasionally on here's beginning to prove too difficult, I can just about post something vaguely into the forum not expecting any replies, but I don't really know how to talk with anyone.

Knocking the neighbour's door and, the moment there's enough of an opening, punching him, then nipping swiftly back indoors, unseen and unheard.

I think it's at the level as when i went over yesterday, maybe louder. It's not near excessive but it's just so annoying, that bloody bass. I'm hoping (really really hoping) that one of the other three(?) adjacent neighbours will complain. It's gotta be a right bastard for his downstairs neighbour, i'm sure they must be getting fed up.

Hope so.

I'll leave it till the weekend - if i can hold out till then - then punch him No, i'll pick a moment when i'm 'cool' and go over, tell him again, underline the issue with the bass - surely he can adjust that, then we'll be plain sailing.

It does make me laugh how someone can move into a block of flats, surrounded by neighbouring flats, and feel so relaxed about using their bass-heavy sound system, even after someone's told them to keep it down. Yeah, they might have previously come from a noisy environment where it was the norm, but whatever happened to people getting a sense of a place and fitting in.. ??

Oh I know. I think some folk really don't give a damn though to be honest or it just never occurs to them how annoying/disruptive it is to other ppl.

How to get an old heavy chest of drawers to the recycling centre without a car. I guess I could put wheels on it and tow it on my bike. I think it's too broken to freecycle, unless someone just wants the wood.

My local recycling centre now ONLY allow cars (I know, it makes no sense). Apparently they're always turning people away at the gates after they've walked some distance with a sofa or drawers.

^ luckily this one does accept pedestrians/cyclists, but unluckily it doesn't take wood, so....
guess I'm going to have to break it up into small pieces and bin it. That will be fun.
