My first time making some type of spinach stew without any help. Frying the chicken was scary with the oil spitting, that the chicken ended up a lil burnt, but overall I liked cooking. Gonna cook the same thing again in a few days.

I managed to go surfing, which I was a bit anxious about, there were quite a few people out there, but I managed it ok, even took my camera mounted on the front of my board, which I was thinking of leaving in the car as it sticks out and arrrgh I just wanted to be as inconspicous as possible, but no one enquired about it thankfully, talked to some 50 year old dude afterwards for about 15 minutes, he made conversation with me which was a bit weird as it meant standing around in the car park in my bathrode, ah he couldve waited till I was changed, he did most of the talking, wasn't too bad, always difficult I feel though when the convo ends and you part ways, difficult to initiate ending the convo too, I don't want to appear rude but also I don't like feeling that I have to wait for them to end it, not feeling in control is not a nice feeling.

I ate tea (yesterday) somewhere I'd never eaten before, on my own. Was very nerve-wracking as it was very nicely set out inside and I was the only customer. But I did it

^ That's great Nat, good on ya!

I've just managed to complete a week's worth of OU work in a day, so now I'm all back on track. And best of all, I've really enjoyed it - so much so, I've even done the optional extras and started the next part.

Take that procrastination

Exposing myself to all an sundry today.

Went to the sunday service at the community centre. (actually I intended to go but was to late so went to the after service tea an biscuits thingamajig.)

Im not religious but thought it would be a good way to address my 'group anxiety' with exposure. It was
packed. Had a few moments of overwhelm but it was contained and I managed to converse with folk'normally.' Was introduced to loads of people and had to speak in groups...No mental blocks, no stuttering. I was fine.

I hope this could be the start of new things and the answer to beating SA. aka Facing what you fear. (consistently)

All in all a great start to the day

Finally signed on to jobseekers, had my interview starter things today. It wasn't as bad as i thought, I did have a *ahem* dodgy stomach with nerves before it and i was the colour of a tomato throughout it. I made it though!

One more step forward.

Sitting with the phone now, contemplating making a doctors appointment. I was all ready to on the way home but I have actually lost the number and now I'm starting to lose the will to do it :/

Ye gods, I finally did it. Got a Doctors appointment for next week. eek. another step forward!

I went for a really really long walk and explored the city a bit. A rare event!

  • Printed out photos of myself at the library (I was paranoid they'd think it was a really weird thing to do, that is if they even check what you're printing)
  • Bought cards for my dad's birthday
  • Returned the keys to my old workplace

In summary, I did everything on my to-do list, which is also a rare event!

I just registered to become a member of my local running community. I really need some new hobbies outside of gaming.

Ran my art group today and 8 showed up including a newbie. Dealt with a rather challenging woman in a calm, relaxed manner and managed to swerve a potentially awkward situation.
Its a mixed group. Most of the people there have some form of mental health problem. I feel the class brings the best out in me.

Happy that Im so relaxed in my own class now. Wish the same could be said for the Anxiety groups I attend or social events.

I managed to ask someone at place where I volunteer to make a cup of tea because I was really stressed. (I normally don't manage to ask for any help or support with things so feeling happy.

well done, it feels good when we challenge those fears. A little bit of exposure therapy!

More importantly, well done for doing volunteering work.

My first day volunteering at my local charity shop went well.I was very nervous at first but got use to shopkeeping, all I had to do was make sure items were placed neatly, labelled correctly, in the right place and no one robs the store. The staff were nice and by the end of the shift my SA was reduced I was able to greet customers, it was fun stepping into a different role. It kind of gives me a little more confidence to try paid retail jobs.

I was most shy of the babies and toddlers that came in which is understandable cause I find it mentally scary to express myself and open up to people and toddlers and babies are often curious of people.

Well done for opening up a tiny bit to someone

I feel guilty if I'm in a bad mood around others but then we are human it's normal that we feel down sometimes.

Did my first ever proper job interview, I think I messed up as I was unprepared for the interview. But I know a bit more what to expect next time in a similar job based interview.

Well done for doing the interview. I absolutely hate them and will probably stay with my current employer to avoid doing another one!

Having said that, one thing I found that really helped is walking in knowing that the interviewers actually want to like you and want to employ you. I found that gave me a bit more confidence walking in and getting going.

^Unfortunately I didn't get the job. I was very nervous and didn't have any idea how the interview would go.

The group interview wasn't bad but triggered feelings and thought back from college, but then again I was around peers who were a bit like the majority of ppl in my old college. I guess my body language wasn't good or something.

Hard luck. Certainly don't worry about feeling nervous. I think that is very common for everyone. The interview I did for my current job I walked in and knocked my cup of water over my interviewers lol!

I guess the main thing is to go to as many as you can, practice is key.

Bought a homeless guy lunch yesterday. Increasingly I feel like an arse for not volunteering in some way. It didn't feel like I thought it would, mainly because he just criticised me for not giving him money for "coffee" aka drugs/booze. Kinda SA provoking thing to do though, got my heart hammering and made my head spin so pleased I managed it.
