Thank you everyone Yes, I read about live-streaming funerals. My mum thinks it may be a quick ten minute burial and that's it.

Sending my condolences Indigo. I think in some ways celebrating their life at a later date when you’re ready can be more fitting as it’s more a celebration of the life within them than acknowledging their passing itself.

Spoke to my Dad yesterday which has eased my mind somewhat. Hate not being in immediate proximity at times like this. Feel quite selfish as my time is spent with my mum. But hopefully he will stay inside. My dreams have been quite heavy recently, as I’m sure they are for most people right now. Just the body’s way of channeling the inner turmoil, I think. Trying to make sense of current events. As someone that struggles with the concept of losing control, uncertain times like this just bring that to the surface. Must be so emotionally taxing to be a doctor choosing who may or may not live based on statistics of who is more likely to live. The unknown is a horrible concept.

Deepest condolences Indigo.

I think there are going to be alot more memorial services later in the year, so people can celebrate the life of a loved one.

^Sorry RocketSpud

I think I'm on a downward mood slide, but somewhere above crappy atm. Probably somewhere around a `meh` and falling. Which then makes me all anxious because I never know how far down it's gonna go nowadays. Or when (or if) it'll come back up. It's like someone moved all the normal (for me) parameters and I'm new at all this b******s again. Bugger.

^^ Hope your mood stays ok

My mood goes up and down during the day, I am struggling a bit with not being able to drive somewhere quiet to walk my dogs..Walking from the house just stresses me out, I live on a single track country road, but it's the busiest place for all the locals to use for walking dogs/jogging/cycling/pushing prams/taking kids out on bikes etc and people fan out width ways across the road so you can't pass them with enough room to spare, so I've only been out once and I am struggling with the lack of purpose driving somewhere to walk gives me.

^ hope those feelings go away, spuddy buddy. Are you able to find a few things to distract? For some reason, I feel like baking some bread will be something you would find a nice and satisfying distraction. Fresh bread with butter... mmm.

Strangely, or perhaps it's not strange at all, I find listening to the radio a bit comforting! I'm listening to Scott Mills right now on my lunch break. And it's a bit of comfort. Listening through headphones seems to help, but I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's the direct route to the earholes and is stopping my thoughts from wandering off and is interrupting them?

@RocketSpud sorry you're still rubbishy, wish I had some helpful suggestions but I don't (way to go me) but have some of these (for once virtual hugs are socially responsible!) and feel free to vent at me if you ever need to.

Well as expected mood has continued to go only one way (not the good one). It's not virus related per se,more that everything that was already total crap (aka 99.9% of my life/me) is even more inescapable when a lot of coping strategies are closed off to me atm. I say coping strategies but HAH to that,I think I last coped sometime pre-1990,they're more distractions. Sometimes I get so sad I could just cry til I'm dehydrated, and then beyond that are the times when crying seems insufficient and curling up in a ball on the floor and wailing like some sort of animal in pain looks like a good plan. I mean,I don't...mainly because I can't work up the energy to do it when it would be pointless anyway.

Everything feels pointless most of the time, but I can occasionally redirect my brain to pretend it's not for a while. Today is not one of those occasions. Arsebiscuits. (swear word courtesy of my slightly odd mother, you're welcome)

Thanks, biscuits and girlinterrupted

I think it's the coming of hayfever season - it's the right time for it (tree pollen) and with last weeks warm weather and the wind kicking up a bit these past few days.... not good. I don't suffer the typical/commonly known hayfever symptoms with the tree pollen, it's more lethargy, headache/fuzziness, body ache, etc resulting in lack of motivation and a feeling of depression. I'm not feeling too bad right now, but let's see how it goes - mornings are worst for me.

Hope you feel better soon, girlinterrupted

^ What's wrong Percy?

On top of the general anxieties of coronavirus, I'm now getting very worried about the future of my job (and my job cannot be done at home). And if I lose my job, i think it might be very difficult to find a job elsewhere in this current crisis. My workplace has also said they are not covered by the government's Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, so the government won't pay my wages if my workplace doesn't need me while this all goes on (although hopefully my job may be covered eventually if rules change). It's quite scary, but perhaps it's best to worry about it IF it comes to it.

We haven't been in this crisis for very long, and I'm starting to feel that all my work with my mental health is unraveling.

@ girlinterrupted, thank you for sharing the term 'Arsebiscuits' It's joyful I imagine I will use it a lot in the near future.
I'm sorry to hear that you're mood is still getting worse, I really hope it improves a little bit soon x

Likewise, Percy, Aleks and Spudly, it's horrible when you're feeling low or are particularly anxious about something
Sorry to have so little to say, but I wish I could say something that might help. I sometimes wish Ajax was still posting because he knew so much about how to manage negative feelings..

When all I can do is send emoji hugs Which are useless, but I will send anyway x
