Re: What's the best book you've read?
I'd have to have a proper think I suppose.
But off the top of my head the book I picked up aged about 16 and did not put down (I read continuously till finished, basically cancelling everything else including sleep) was George Orwell's 1984. It's been about 20 years since I read it but no other book hooked me so obsessively (Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray did too, but not to the same extent). |

If we're talking fiction, I'd say probably The Stand.
Non-fiction, well, there are far too many to choose from. |

Re: What's the best book you've read?
Probably the Iliad overall, it's simple yet timeless similes, tragedy, beauty etc. never mind it's history of collection from original compositions sung by Bronze Age bards to the modern text today!but there's a lot more that have stuck over the years too.
God, I'm a geek! |

Re: What's the best book you've read?
Non-fiction would have to be either the Anarchist FAQ vol I and vol II, or A. Leontiev's Political Economy.
