Default What would you do in this situation?

My biggest breakfast fear has come true!!

Well, my biggest breakfast fear is cracking open an egg and finding a chick but that can never come true because I don't eat breakfast eggs.

My second biggest breakfast fear has come true:

I'm having cereal and there isn't enough milk in the bottle on the left, which means I WILL HAVE TO MIX THE MILKS FROM TWO DIFFERENT BOTTLES.

What would you do in this situation?

^^ What do you put in your tea?

I would never be able to drink a glass of milk. I used to have lactose intolerance and couldn't stomach milk at all. I had to have scans and all sorts! But I can have it in cereal and tea now. Whole milk, I can't handle at all.

Haha I refrained from having:

"I'm vegan, please let that be known!"

as an option

The type of milk isn't vital in this dilemma. Please replace the cow milk with a milk substitute of your choice when making your decision!

It could be any milk and the problem would be a problem for me.

Edit: the image has been changed.

^ oooh I love red bush. Have you tried the one in Lidl which is green rooibos, peach and cherry? Highly recommend that!

I met someone from here once and ordered rooibos and pronounced it completely wrong! How embarrassing.

I don't really understand the dilemma... probably almost every milk I use overlaps with the next one?

Two bowls, with proportional amounts of cereal in each. OK maybe something smaller than a bowl if it's just a trickle of milk. Maybe a shot glass.

I wouldn't actually do that, I have a bagel in the morning.

I think this ^ is probably the main issue, giving you a problematic relationship with milk,..
I can comprehend now why you are having a dilemma.

For me, I'd just open a new bottle and empty the old one down the sink (as there only seems to be a dribble in it)

It is a dilemma for sure especially if there is any doubt as to to the freshness of milk left in the opened bottle. Early morning is not any time for doing a sniff test or God forbid a taste test. Wretching is no way to start the day. Do you or the neighbour have a cat that could be enticed with a saucer of milk, if not stay safe and get rid.

I don't really drink that much milk. Unless it's in powdered form and I'm drinking my coffee sachets. So I guess my dilemma would be mixing up my Nescafe 3 in 1 sachets with my NY Coffee 3 in 1 sachets. It doesn't bear thinking about!

That being said, if in doubt, milk something else. Or something like that.

I'd mix the milk, because wastage/money and there's no logical reason not to. I have OCD though so maybe that's why it would be a thing I'd notice and not feel 100% fine with. Like a slightly annoying neckline on something you have to fidget with.

If mixing milks is an issue for you, why not use the milk from the fuller bottle and use up the other milk in tea (or something requiring a smaller quantity, like batter mix)? I have fruit juice (usually apple and mango, although recently I couldn't find that and tried banana juice - which I'd never seen before) on my muesli, although I'm not sure how that would work with other cereals.

Personally, I'd mix the milks.

^ I don’t use cows milk for cereal, I only like one brand of coconut milk, but I use cows milk in tea and as a household this is what happens.
My children both drink cows milk/ use it for cereal and would open a new one, and the rest of the old one gets used in tea/coffee.

How do you sleep at night?!

I didn't even realise this was an issue until it happened and I thought, "I can't mix the milks! They have different smells!"

The thread is just a bit of fun about my strange worries

Haha this is exactly it!

(Cats aren't supposed to have cow milk.)

That's a good point!

Well, I just left the old milk for teas and opened the new milk for the cereal like Merry's children and Greg would.

But then I remembered that I hate having the first part of the milk. It has a different taste to the next part of the bottle. Sort of filmy?

So sensitive to textures, tastes and smells!
