There is a small theory that women were the first gender to count. They found ancient tally sticks and there is a theory ancient women timed between periods. A random thing I came across.

Mine have always been awful and lasted a week-10 days, physically painful, caused migraines (inherited, cheers maternal line) and made my anxiety and related MH stuff worse. Now they`ve taken it to a whole new level because of my age (perimenopausal dontchaknow) and have included emergency Drs trips and basically scaring the bejeesus out of me every month in case it happens yet again. Lasting a fortnight with multiple migraines also now seems to be pretty usual, fun times.

I like this thread though,is good to rant or moan (me,not everyone else) to other women about it,not something I get a chance to do otherwise

I read in the freebie magazine that Boots gave me that you could have a prescription get something to delay it if you were going on holiday and it was due over that week/ 2 weeks.

I don't know how many times you'd be allowed to go and get one else you could just carry on delaying it.

^ Damn it, the pill didn't make me go up any bra sizes! It has made things so much better though, no mood swings, minimal pain and I know when they're going to be which is handy.

I think I may have gone up a bra size actually. The amount of clothes I've had to get rid of recently because I can't fit my chest into them.

Yay it starts 4 days early and times it perfectly to be the same day our one toilet breaks again, good times. Workman time, here comes OCD critical mass.

Stupid stomach ache and I`m boiling, the migraine has gone though so meh.

Technically it`s ok,but really I want to ...catch my breath......and then a nice nap.

Also I really want a nice cuddle yet at the same time if anyone even looks at me atm I also want to bite their head off. Women eh.

Going to gloat a bit here, coz I don't have them anymore!! Being an old bat does have its perks! ( not quite a whole year , only 8 months period free- but I'm quietly hopeful that I've seen the last! )

Menopause though- now don't get me started on that one!

Do you still get symptoms of your period?

@Nervous Wreck Sounds divine! I couldn`t wait to get to the premenopause/menopause itself, but seems like mine are going to get worse before they get better by buggering off altogether. The Dr keeps warning me of procedures and operations, yay doing wonders for the old anxiety.

Enjoy the freedom *looks on enviously*

^ ^ No, thankfully. Used to get an ache in left leg (!) every month but nothing now!!!

^ Im through the worst but it has been a nightmare. Heavy bleeding, etc. Don't want to be graphic but it was no fun. Sometimes I couldn't even walk to the end of the road!!

Still get the hot flushes. Have been told they can go on for years. My hands get so sweaty they look as if they've been dipped in water! BUT, freedom, yep, I am certainly enjoying that. Don't miss my younger years at all - no monthly aggro is worth such a lot!!!

^Yes the heaviness and..other stuff. At the minute it`s lucky I don`t work because I`d be unable to go in for 10 or so days every month (maybe more) and I`m sure employers would LOVE that

EDIT: The heat!!! It`s like being on fire from the inside out *stands in front of open freezer in underwear* ....nothing to see here! As you were

^ I sympathise. A few years ago I came on in the November and didn't stop bleeding until the following March. Obviously it wasn't heavy all of that time - but in the end I went to the doctor who put me on Norethisterone to stop the bleeding. Luckily I was only working 2 hours a week so I managed. No one warns you that this type of continuous bleed is actually fairly normal, certainly not unheard of anyway. I thought I was dying!!!! - Paranoia kicked in big time over those months!!!

I should probably have gone to the doctors a lot sooner than I did, but I hate going. And he went on about possibly having a coil fitted etc etc and I'm a complete coward with even the smallest procedure!!

^Oh noes, the buggers got you too! Have these and make sure you nom all your favourite stuff whilst doing something nice for yourself, like a film or music

Is it still hot where you are? Bloody summer needs to go away, these occasions call for hot water bottles and duvets (plus even the chocolate melts too quickly, pfft)

^^ Me neither, but yes totally agree they are no fun. I am really hoping I don't have too long to go regarding this monthly curse. I'm mental enough already so I don't need a load of peri menopausal hormones thrown into the mix
