No, sorry to disappoint you T. Our entry is just bland, the sort of stuff that all sounds the same on Radio 1. I really like our entry last year, it was unpretentious and quite fun. Thats why we got a high vote for once I think.

Im liking Armenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Italy, San Marino, Ukraine and possibly Czechia and Greece. The rest sound like bland ‘cookie cutter’ pop songs.

I'm surprised I haven't woken up singing, "ring tin ting ringy ting ringy!

I also liked the one where the lady has really long hair and walked up a mountain. Then another lady came out and was sort of rapping.

The entire contest should be banned for crimes against music.

@Tembo - the UK bombed last year. I think it was like 24th out of 26! Do you mean the year prior to that when it was Sam Ryder?

I really like Olly Alexander - but not the biggest fan of the song. It's okaaay. The staging and choreography is next level though! It must make it hard for him to sing as well and I think he does pretty well considering that. I saw him say that his odds are 1% to win.

All I can remember of last year's is that the cha cha cha guy should've won it, no memory of last year's winner nor the song. This year, Ukrainian one is good, Netherlands is classic mad eurovision with a bit of gabba, Poland should've made the final, Finland's 'oo-er no pants' shouldn't have made the final. There's a decent synth duo too, can't remember where from though. Olly's song is undercooked pet shop boys but he's a proper pop star so who knows?

Oh! Loreen won last year didn't she with her daft punk ripoff

The Netherlands have now been banned and are no longer taking part in the final!

It does sound like a cross between It's a Sin and Deeper Shade of Blue by Steps.

My favourites are: Croatia (tune and a half), Ukraine (the mountain one that I was too lazy to look up earlier!) and Denmark. Although I didn't fully pay attention to the semi final on Thursday.

Croatia is the favourite, but I'm going to say Denmark to win.

Based on staging/choreography alone, I think either the UK or Ireland probably deserve to win.

^ think I know what you mean.

In previous years there’s been a few songs that I really enjoyed, but not so much this year. Although I quite enjoyed Armenia and Estonia’s entry. And I can’t decide whether I really enjoyed Ireland or was petrified.

I like our entry, it's the catchiest song we've had in years, but Olly Alexander's singing didn't sound quite right. It sounded like he couldn't quite find his breath.

I thought he sounded fine, but I'm deaf in one ear. As a production, it was very impressive and deserves to do better in the public vote.

I'm deaf in my left one. How did yours happen, Ray? I went deaf in my left ear pretty much overnight.

^^ Hmm, I like the song but thought the vocal performance was reedy and lacking welly. I don't know if it was nerves, or struggling to find the puff with the energetic dancing (either of which is understandable!).

I thought the choreography was clever but perhaps a bit much (even for Eurovision).

I thought this was the best Eurovision in years - and some of the songwriting was verging on innovative for a change; there were half a dozen decent songs there (although most of them didn't score highly) - and I actually liked the winning song, probably for the first time since Lordi.

I think it was always quite bad, but a few ear infections over the last couple of years seem to have done some lasting damage to my left ear. I also had to get it syringed a few times over the last decade, which probably hasn't helped. The right one isn't great either, so I'll probably need a hearing aid at some point. It still holds my sunglasses up though, so there's that.

I was wondering why Israel scored such a low vote from the juries (on its own merits, the song was far from bad). I presume that was a deliberate effort to prevent the inevitable manipulation of the public vote from gifting them the whole thing. Even Ireland - where pretty much everyone hates Israel - gave them ten points.

There are two fares on my ticket machine. To avoid confusion, I always charge the lower one.

I'm just glad that Ireland didn't win. I don't mind theatrics, and I thought Lordi were amusing at the time, but Ireland was just plain devil worshipping on a stage!

The UK staging was fine, but the song was too radio safe, and his vocals were off.

I think Ireland finished where they deserved. It was performance art, not literal devil worshipping, but a bit too weird and obscure to win the whole thing. Their best result in 24 years.

The UK entry deserved more points, especially from the televote. The general public should never be trusted.
