Finished a course about Buddhism that was very heavy on the interaction, talking in small groups, nightmare stuff. I held back more than I'd like to have, and skived off one week, but managed to participate a bit more by the end, somehow.

So me getting depressed over this is a smaller deal than a question that is awkward?

I guess at the moment I probably come across as depressed and overly-serious. I would like to be a fun person to be around but I also want honesty, people who I know are really my friends, it's why I have left Facebook currently cause I felt most of my friends there weren't friends. Yeah it might be an uncomfortable question, but at least then our friendship can be honest rather than one where we hide stuff and tip toe around each other.

Thanks Tubbs and biscuits. That was the most positive day I'd had in a long time.

I opened the door to an online food shop last week.
I went to a pub (it was an awful experience but I got through it)
I fed some ducks.
I went into the doctors surgery on Thursday.
I spoke on the phone today.

The most achievements I've had in a week

^^^ Well done Dimplesxo.

I went to a gardening group today and planted some sprout seeds and tomatoes. I also watered other vegetables in the garden. I met some lovely people and had a great day!

It is a lovely group biscuits. There were only 6 people so it was nice and small and most people were calm and quiet - perfect!

I had a successful job interview today. I won't know for a while whether I got the job or not, but for the first time in my 36 years, I left an interview room feeling like I hadn't let myself down, sold myself short or shat my pants. There was a written assessment beforehand and the interviewer told me I got the highest score (100% - which he said was an extremely rare occurrence). I think this may have put a spring in my step, thus eradicating my nervousness somewhat.

After the interview, there was an occupational medical exam. This was less successful. I was honest about my use of antidepressants, which means that they have to contact my GP and decide whether me being a fucking MenTaL LOL poses any kind of risk (the job involves driving buses, so I would have the safety of up to 90 people in my hands). Also, they did an informal eye-test, which I failed quite badly, so now I have to go to SpecSavers and, if necessary, get glasses.

Thanks Dimplesxo and Appear.

Have you had a look to see whether there are any gardening groups in your area Appear? A friend of mine started the gardening group within a mental health support group on Meetup.

I'd like to do something like that too, I find being around other people much easier outside, doing something physical.

I spent a happy hour ironing, which I enjoy;
discarded half a dozen items from the bathroom cabinet - out of date items and things I'll never use;
discarded a couple of worn-out towels to donate to the RSPCA;
had a ten-minute walk.

It's great to read that so many of you have had achievements whilst I've been away; I do love reading this thread and reading about everyone's progress. Spinal, it's always good to avoid homicidal urges, so congratulations.

I had a tiny achievement of my own during my recent holiday. Last Thursday (14th), I had an accident which left me with a black eye, a heavily-grazed and bruised face and a deep gash over my right eye; it happened just a few minutes before I was due to join a boatload of people on a whale-watching trip, but despite looking hideous (or, I should say, even more hideous than usual), I managed - after having cleaned up the cut and applied a plaster as a temporary measure until I could get to a hospital - to join the trip without feeling overly self-conscious. Even after I got the cut glued, the black eye, swelling, bruising and grazes were somewhat noticeable but I didn't let it hinder my enjoyment of the remaining days of my holiday.

Although I wasn't seriously hurt, the accident was a near-death experience: it's only my thick skull, pure luck and/or an inch either way which prevented me from being killed / knocked unconscious / losing an eye, so it's also a reminder that none of knows what time we have left and that we should do all we can to live now.

I went to a new gym which is something I’ve been putting off since I moved up here. Didn’t lift heavy or stay long because I’d like to be able to move my arms next week and the football was starting but I will be back there.

Being seen as a boring loner, once as always at work, and having a fit 50 year old man who can do more pushups than me pushed me to do it.

Just read the book or get an app to learn it. From what I remember most of the questions have two obvious wrong answers anyway and you can get some very similar questions in the test as well.

I got 34/35 in the car theory and 92/100 in the HGV theory.

^ where I did mine you have a kind of desk with partitions on each side so you can't see the people left or right of you. This was ages ago though.

Both places I did my theory they ask you to prove your mobile is switched off (if you have it on you), and put all your stuff in a tray before you put it in the locker.

It's just like AL says, partitioned desk. Take your time, you can chose to do practice questions first
