Does anyone else use a menstrual cup? Does everybody else use a menstrual cup and I'm the only one who doesn't and I'm all left out and behind the times? I had a moment of feeling environmentally conscious and thinking I should really give this a go. Why I haven't so far - I imagined dropping one in a cubicle and 2) I thought I might end up having to buy several to find the right one and never fancied splurging £60 or whatever. But I ought to do better.

^^^^^ I have tried a menstrual cup before, there are lots of different types and some are cheaper than others. You kind of have to do a bit of research before hand to work out what kind you might need, you need to know the height of your cervix because if it's quite high you might need a longer cup with a long stem and if it's lower you might need a shorter cup with not much stem. There are softer cups that are easier to get in and out and can be good if you suffer from cramps and then there are firmer ones for if you're particularly athletic and have strong muscles. https://femininewear.co.uk/collections/menstrual-cups this website has a lot of options.

I have heard some people say they love them and that they can just put one in at the beginning of the day and forget about it until the evening. They certainly save a lot of money on pads or tampons if you can use one like that. A lot of people seem to feel better wearing a small pad or panty liner with them just incase of leaks, but if you get them in correctly they don't tend to leak much it seems.

There are ways of coping in public toilets that involve taking in a bottle of water and wipes, etc although that might be a little more advanced!

^ Urgh, just reading about ‘menstrual cups’ makes me want to tightly cross my legs! I don’t know why, but I have visions of women walking around with coffee mugs, wine glasses and various other drinking receptacles stuffed up their vaginas

I’ll be sticking to pads methinks.

^^^ Haha, oh dear they're not that big! It's roughly the same as using a tampon.

^^ The internet is spying on us all.

I understand it's not for everyone though, I don't use one regularly because i'm one of those people who would need to be taking it out all the time and it's just easier to use pads instead.

Sorry everyone is now getting followed around by menstrual cups. I keep getting period pants which I also read up on. Think I might get one, but the only real benefit is the environmental one, and being able to keep it in for in for longer than a tampon overnight.

Hey I was just wondering if anyone has tried that Norethisterone (stops your period while on holiday). If so does your period go back to normal afterwards?

I woke up this morning, walked through to the bathroom to brush my teeth, coughed, and actually thought I'd pissed myself. Vagina explosion. Blood everywhere, it was like something out of a horror film. My medication is really messing my periods up. I have chocolate and wine and Supernatural tonight though.

^^ Hey do you want to do a swap newbs because I'm still waiting for mine to stop! It's been a week and I'm totally sick of it. I'm sure that's why my energy levels are so low.

It's at times like this that I wish I was a man
