Trying to find something post-Dark, I would not recommend 'The Rain'.

I'm running out of crime documentaries!

I'm watching a British thing about missing people and something about people on death row too.

Maybe I'll buy two tickets and give one to her for free - she might want to go then. If not, I could put a desperate plea for companionship out on Facebook. I always knew the day would come when I'd have to pay for people to spend time with me!

You'd be welcome to the spare ticket, btw!
Oooh I hope you manage to go... just tell yourself it will be worth it for £60 I might mention it as a birthday present idea for next year.... although tbh I don't think I could handle something so 'people-y'
I will hold you to the spare ticket though

In The Tall Grass. It seems to have mixed reviews but I really enjoyed it.

I started Marianna today but fell asleep. I think it's probably good but the dubbing from French into English is too weirdly distracting for me Might try again of i'm in the mood.

Does anyone watch The Good Place? I liked the first season, but I don't think I've even laughed once since then. I'm not sure why I even watch it really - for a comedy show it's certainly lacking in comedy. I'll probably watch the rest of this season since it's the last one and I'm curious about how it'll finish.

The third season of Big Mouth is on now too.

^ I heard so much good stuff about it when it was first out. Only started watching it recently, and you're right.
First season very watchable & funny. The rest of it seems like the writers were just offered bucketloads of money to drag it out a few more seasons. Don't waste ya time.

I agree. I think it's overrated and overhyped. Don't think I've LOLed once during an episode, I only watch because my other half likes it and it's pretty undemanding viewing. (Plus, Kristen Bell )

I came here to recommend The Politician. I'm hooked!

I was going to watch it this week, but then I remembered that pretty much every Netflix Originals film they try to get people to watch by having it constantly appear at the top of the menu is terrible.

I enjoyed it! I didn't mind it as a bit of easy don't have to concentrate escapism for an hour and a half.

Mind you this is coming from someone (for the same reasons) who still enjoys episodes of the Waltons...

Pfft!!

It wasn't that bad! The 1st half was better than the more dodgy 2nd half admittedly.

I thought the 1st half was just so dull and awful that i really didn't care for anything that followed. I could've turned it off after 5mins. I'm hard to please

I was confused with how bad it was, waiting for more context .... and couldn't be arsed to start anything else. It was supposed to be a horror too - were you horrored at any point??

I wish Netflix allowed you to rate everything out of ten after you'd watched it. I'm sure they count a person viewing something as a success. "Well, this low quality film had lots of people watching it, we might as well keep making more of them." In reality it's that people's standards have been lowered since they find it easier to just press play on the first thing they're told by Netflix to watch than to spend time looking through the library for something better.

Yeah, we need more people calling out this shite..... not that i care, it's not my subscription, but ... i'm concerned by the lowered standards... as exampled by Mo34

I did actually look for something to watch on one of those 'new on Netflix uk this week' sites, which listed all the latest releases. None of the titles rang a bell ... apart from The NeverEnding Story

I'm sure a long time ago they did this. I recall things having a star rating by viewers/users but that's long gone. It would be handy.

I remember thinking this at the time too, but when they changed it to the new thumb up/down thing I looked it up and apparently the star ratings were actually just some stupid prediction of what they thought you would rate it (based on a combination of other's people's ratings and your viewing habits) So something most people rated 1/5 might be shown to you as being 5/5 if it was very similar to a few things you rated highly.
