People never believe my age when I tell them, they always think I am younger. My friend told the place she works I might be interested in a new position they have coming up and her office manager rang me last week and asked my age saying she wasn't discriminating, I just sounded young. Just what you want to hear when you're already a nervous wreck talking to somebody over the phone.

Same same the kids at work thought I was younger, jaws dropped when I said I was the oldest in the room at 30. I think it's because I act like a kid at work not my appearance (lots of greys coming through now).

A new youth worker joined the team recently and the kids thought he was about 30, poor sod, and he's actually only 21. Good looking lad it's just he had lots of facial hair and was really tall with a deep voice. It gave the impression of being slightly older. He looks a bit like Reclue actually.

Oh and that reminds me of when a man asked me to guess his age once, I said 31 he was actually 22. I hung my head in shame. The thing is I was judging based on his job. He was a magazine owner and I couldn't imagine him having that job and being really young, even though his face seemed very youthful! So yeah we all tend to make strange little judgements on age and not all of them are based on appearances. Either that or I'm crap at guessing ages.

OK it was probably stupid to ask people to guess my age.

I thought the guesses would probably average out to be about right or just 2-3 years out at most.

I know I said I didn't care, but I'm a bit embarrased about how far out it was , so could anyone who's included my photo in their reply please delete it please ?

I don't think I do but other people must think so as the other day I got ID'd for a scratch card and I'm 26!

Yes probably to some extent despite the poor tone of my skin which is perhaps more related to factors such as alcohol, and sofar not having been ID'd when buying anything for a long time now. I've always used an exfoliating scrub on my face from time to time to refresh skin.

I look about the age I am I guess. No one has ever been surprised when I've said my age and I haven't been ID'd in years.

I look about right for my age although I've been told I look younger, some guess I'm 10 years younger sometimes but they're poor judges. The older I get the more I look my actual age.

Depends who I'm with. I look older when hanging out with older looking people etc.

People's estimates of my age seem to vary wildly. Some people seem to guess about right, others underestimate my age by quite a bit. Most often they seem to guess that I'm somewhere in my mid-to-late twenties, which is fine by me.

No one embarassed me - it did that myself

I'm still in shock at how far out the average of the guesses were

No prizes and I don't gamble.

I'm just going to go away and hide under my duvet now

Im 26 and most folk have me pegged at around 22 which tbh doesn't bother me cos at least I dont look under 18 lol, that would be embarrassing. But I hate telling folk I don't really know my age cos it seems like such a big deal for some reason. My thoughts are age is just a silly number and shouldn't define you. Its what you make of life that's important

Grow a beard, and you'll look 10-20 years older.

I honestly don't know.

I have huge problems telling anyone's age, I really do. I think this is as a result of such a large disconnect with other humans and virtually a life of little to no socialising (because that doesn't interest me).

Yes it runs in the family on my Mums side, all the women look a lot younger than they are so I suppose I should be happy that that got passed down to me. I really didn't like it when I was younger and had to constantly carry around ID but as I have got older its quite nice.

Yeppers.

The initial bit of getting to know people can be annoying. (Not 'every' time, just sometimes.) I have to school them that I am more than I seem and not to treat me as a younger person than I am.

Then theres obviously always those 'guys' who think im weak pray, those types of peeps are everywhere. Very irritating no end.

However women are easier to work with in such matters. Its not as common that you come across a female who will blank you unless they really are arrogant enough.

And its not always bad that guys think you young because not all guys have a penis issue, the need to be a big man that is obviously compensating. Personally I prefer breasts, I dont know why they need to advertise how inadequate they are - Regardless, I dont care and imo its kinda awkward to talk to a random person you only just met about such a thing. =s Those types of 'guys' are everywhere. Guys who are nicer to me are usually more threatened by another guy for more valid reasons rather than such childish stuff. Im cool with that aslongs as they being nice and everything, they still learn who I am sooner or later.

For the most part, when people get to know me, they is a big difference from when they first meet me.
