Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
Really sorry to hear this. My brother, his wife and also my Mum tested positive recently but they've all come through it ok thankfully. It's very worrying.

Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
It seems even more widespread than the first wave, which obviously by the numbers of cases it is. Nearly every day I'm hearing of someone else who has tested positive or who is isolating because they've been in contact with someone who's tested positive.

Foreign NHS workers could be denied Covid vaccine in England
https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...nOBYaASRVSPY20 Another brain dead decision that'll work f***ing well-NOT! in stopping more people like stepdaughter being positive. |

Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
^ Why does it matter where they're from, they're working in the NHS so they need it for their own and their patient's safety! What a stupid policy.

Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
^ Indeed. When they're being looked after in hospital by someone who wasn't able to get the vaccine it may come back to bite them.

The whole COVID approach has primarily been about the Tories trying to maintain their level of popularity as much as possible.

Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
Sorry to hear this, FireMonkey.
My sister and bro-in-law had it some months back, it was pretty rough but they got through it. But they still suffer from "long COVID". I found out today my uncle has it. He is over 80 and already frail. Very worried for my uncle!! |

Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
^ My sister in law is still struggling with long covid symtoms of exhaustion after having it before Christmas.
So sorry to hear that about your uncle. Had he had the vaccine yet? I just heard that my cousin and her two teenagers have it. It is literally everywhere. |

Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
^^ I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. I hope he can recover. My stepdaughter wasn't too good yesterday . They thought there might be blood clots, but that turned out not to be the case. She's doing much better today. My granddaughter has a cough, but doesn't sound too bad on the phone.
The great grandson has an ear infection that may be Covid related. |

Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
@Dougella: sorry, too, to hear your sis-in-law has been suffering. Sorry as well that your cousin and her kids now have it. That really sucks! The virus itself is apparently bad enough, but then victims are often hit with after-effects that can drag on for many months, it seems.
Thanks, my uncle had the injection, but not quite soon enough it seems... @FireMonkey: Glad your stepdaughter is improving now |

^ It really is an unpleasant thing to gk through by the sounds of it, all they can do really is rest. How many days is it now since they tested positive?

Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
^ Totally forgot to give an update. She's doing much better physically . Financially it's a bit of a sh*tstorm. She had been due to have the vaccine but now the hospital says she has to wait 30 days while her bosses are saying 90 days.

Re: Stepdaughter positive for COVID
Good news she is doing better physically. Oh dear I guess she will have some natural immunity for a few months after having the virus. I think there might be financial help she could apply for if she is having trouble.
