Thumbs down Worst TV shows

What TV show is so bad it makes you cringe?

At the moment I've been given Numb3rs a try. I guess it must be one of the worst crime TV series I've seen so far and I surely don't know why they're in Season 6 now. The constant pretend-to-be-scientific-and-oh-so-clever-ness of the characters makes me wanna barf. Pretty bad acting, too, for some of the main roles in my opinion. I've given it a chance to become better, but the more I watched it the more annoyed I got. Big thumbs down from me.

Which show makes you want to scream?

I have a love/hate relationship with X Factor. It has the potential be good and gripping but they smother it with cheesy duets and sob stories.

Uuuuuuum Loose Women is dire. Cribs is dire. Those new Katie Price and Peter Andre shows make me want to kill myself. Why don't they kiss, make up and f*ck off to Hong Kong or somewhere where they can't wrap the press round their fat, grubby, money-grabbing little fingers. C*nts.

Xtra factor is horrendous, and Holly Willoughby acts like a huge moron. I don't know if that's in her job description, but she needs to cut it out pretty soon. Kerry Katona's programme was horrendous too. Stupid fat lard arse. Anything that MTV shows that just reeks of Americanization.

Infact all American shows irritate me. Especially the reality ones. Some family had a makeover in their house and the mum and dad fell to their knees sobbing in the middle of the street. Get. A. Grip. American shows just reek of false people. I also find it amazing how everyone on shows like Rikki Lake have immaculate skin. Have you seen them? There's not a visible blemish in a crowd of about 300 people. It's just such a pathetic cover.

Although I never watch them, I find all the soaps pretty cringeworthy. The plotlines are a load of old drivel with ridiculous amounts of conflict and shouting and tragedy and crying. And everything has to be miked-up so you hear every little breath and sigh. Then there's the pictures on the cover of every TV listings magazine with the characters trying to sum up the plot in a single emotion-packed photo

There's a comedy on BBC2 at the moment call 'how not to live your life'... it's monumentally poor. It should really be called "how not to write a sitcom"

The xtra factor-worst bits of x factor with an inane annoying host.

Bang goes the theory- this sort of thing used to be made for children. Compare with How2 (not the original 70s How with Fred Dinage and Jack Hargreaves -that would be far too mature for adult tv now- but the 80s version with trendy presenters)

Most of the output of BBC3 being gimmicky and voyeuristic- what odds could you have gotten 20 years ago that the BBC would be putting out a tacky channel like this?

Big Brother - a bunch of numpties doing numpty things.

Loose Women - "I have elbows!" "oh wow me too!" "shall we have a big girly scream over that fact?" "yes, let's!" "WWWAAAAAAAA hahahahaaaa!" - argh!

Heroes - good show but i dont like it because i couldnt understand it!

Ruth Watsons hotel show thing - big rip off of Hotel Inspector!

The Bold and The Beautiful - always on Diva tv when I want Ellen to be on! Utter pile of crap.

Most Haunted -... just.. urgh...

Total Wipeout - as Charlie Brooker said "hes gone and fell in the water!" - and thats about all it consists of.

People claiming The Office as one of the worst programmes ever, fffft, question your collected sanities, people.

Worst programme ever is Songs Of Praise. Not because I have issues with organised religion (I do, and so do many), it's because it is the epitome of televisual waste for me, it is something that nobody I have ever known actually *watches*, even Christianfolk, it continually fails to serve any purpose and it must've been on for well over 30 years(!), pissing away the licence fee.

Not only that, it makes Christianity seem so boring and insular, it must merely serve to deter belief in Christ/God, considering how shite it is, how desperately lacking it is???

Fucking hell, it's worse than Last Of The Summer Wine (which has made me fully accept - and extol - the concept of euthanasia).

Songs Of Praise has made me feel suicidal since about 1979, when I was barely over the stage of toddlering, it always made Sundays feel like "that dead day", exuded this atmosphere of ultimate bleakness, all these insanely hopeful, semi-ugly people blurting out anachronistic dirges every bloody week, every bastard month, every ****ing year.

**What's more, I actually felt suicidal when I was less than 4.**

**I've been child-abused by BBC1 on a Sunday afternoon. For years.**

And it was all down to fucking Songs Of Praise.

Right now I don't know, because I don't watch TV unless it's a programme I know I want to see.

But when I was getting outpatient treatment at a psychiatric hospital, the waiting room showed the Jeremy Kyle show (well, it was on at the time I was there). I don't know whether it was just coincidence or whether it was actually intended as a confidence booster for the patients - "I may be mad, but at least I'm not on the Jeremy Kyle show".

I don't watch it. I'm just...aware of its presence, the way it's always on on a Sunday afternoon, wasting the schedule, a tedious ceremony every bleedin' week, I'd much rather an 80s repeat of The Antiques Roadshow was on, more people would watch it. It just occurs in the background when the telly is left on BBC1, and I'm around the house doing something else, after the Sunday dinner, after the Eastenders omnibus, and it's on in the background and it always makes me want to die.

Life is masochism, you know. I'm not sure it's right to add extra masochism to the already masochistic timeblob that is 'life'.

But if you like it, well, more power to your Bible-Arms.

Hehe. Hat-makers, milliners, rejoice! Grey, fluffy hats. Ones of tweed and others formed of green cord material.

Christ, the streets were an absolute dead zone, imagine being in a city centre where everything was totally dead - that was the early 80s!

PS: Yes, The Waltons were very close behind, though at least John-Boy's cheeky grin hinted at some sense of mischievousness - unlike that castratoid Aled Jones.

^this

Though I do find it kinda funny how they can dream up conflict from the stupidest tinyiest events in a "oh no someone spilt a pint on me somehow starting a downward spiral where out of nowhere I cheat on my wife with several women including my own mother and a dog and then murder 10 people to cover it up while the police are entirely clueless" kinda way :P

Also anything on BBC3
