nope, I just do it the way I was taught in school; chop it up like I am chopping up an onion halve. Is crushing it easy? Ill do another picture if you like? (if ive got time cus ive got to do my cbt homework and go to the appt this afternoon).

you just turn a large flat knife on it's side, hold the handle firmly with your left hand (assuming you're right handed), then use your right palm to squish the flat surface of the knife down on the clove. Don't poke at it from afar like a girl trying to kill a spider (!), keep everything stable and under control, then just give it a squish. Put a moist tea towel under your chopping board so it's stable. I'm not a garlic lover but that's how they do it if you just want a roughly crushed clove of garlic to bung into something.
