apparently magnesium is a key nutrient. And seemingly nothing I eat reguarly contains magnesium. People who eat porridge are okay though.

It's a very important mineral, apparently most of the population are deficient.
One of the earliest signs of deficiency is anxiety and agitation.

Yeah I’ve been hearing recently too. I will need to think of a source or supplement it.

Pumpkin seeds, nuts, chickpeas, spinach, a range of beans.

My favourite snacks and foods!

Pats can be eaten as muesli, not just porridge! Plus you've got dried fruits, nuts in there and seeds to up the magnesium.

What's a Pat? Can I find any Pat to use as museli?
Dried fruit doesn't contain magnesium, just high in everything else. Nuts, and beans is a good one.

^ of course dried fruit has magnesium in it! Raisins, apricots... If you have them in a bowl of nutty muesli, you're winning!

Pat haha a nice bowl of Pat Butcher's earrings to go with the other Pat merchandise that I'm getting you for Christmas:

You’re wrong, you’re wrong, you’re wrong

“Raisins, sultanas and currants have a similar nutrient profile, as all are high in fiber, potassium and antioxidants. On the downside, they are high in sugar and have a lower vitamin C and K content than fresh grapes.”

Not sure which dried fruit has magnesium?

I look forward to the Pat Butcher merchandise.

^ you don't know which dried fruits contain magnesium?

let me say it a little bit louder RAISINS AND APRICOTS!

Figs and dates too.

Why won't you believe in the power of raisins and apricots?

Of course if you eat loads that's not ideal but some in a bowl of porridge or muesli wouldn't be excessive.

Dried fruits have iron I believe but not so much magnesium. It's nuts and seeds that have more magnesium. Bananas also contain a good amount of magnesium apparently, who knew.

^ dried apricots, raisins, figs, dates all contain more magnesium than bananas do. They all also contain more magnesium than they do iron.

Did you just google "dried fruits" as a category rather than the individual dried fruits mentioned above?

Have a another try! Also read my original response for higher sources of magnesium. We were talking about upping magnesium by putting dried fruits mentioned into a Pat Butcher muesli.

I used to get cramps all the time, so had to up my magnesium levels and didn't want to do it with supplements.

Dark chocolate is also a great source. You can melt it and coat dried dates. Let it set. Yummmmm.

Pumpkin seeds- superhigh
Bananas 37mg in a large banana
Raisins 15mg

^ you're not exactly going to eat 100g of cashew nuts, chocolate, or pumpkin seeds a day either, I hope!

The best thing is to eat a whole host of different magnesium rich foods. So if you have the dried fruits, nuts, seeds in with your oaty cereal then you're getting a mix of magnesium rich sources in one bowl rather than eating 100g of things individually. A mixed bean chilli with whole grain rice is a good way of getting it from a variety of sources. Guacamole on top adds extra too. Hummus and falafel - chickpea, magnesium rich hit.

Are you vegetarian? Sorry I'm assuming you are as you haven't mentioned fish.

I recently got JBL earphones that were around £40. They are more comfortable than my airpods, also I actually prefer the matte black material to the glossy white material of the airpods as bluetooh earphones are someting small that are touched ad abused a lot. The matte makes the earphones and the case feel more durable. The case however of my JBL earphones don't appear stronger than the airpods case as it feels like the joints can break if I tried too. The glossiness of the airpod cas made it look like it can crack easily.

Apple have well designed products mostly but I feel that their airpods, not the airpod pro versions, aren't that well designed. They aren't designed with user experience or comfort in mind are overly sensitive that adjusting the airpods if they become loose on the ear pauses the music, something I have noticed my jbl erphones not do. Also airpods use to irritate my ears after a few hours. The JBL earphoes feel comfortable like I am not even wearing them.

I wonder if Apple design is going downhill.

Regarding the subject of magnesium, one big factor that affects how well you absorb Mg is the amount of acid in your stomach.
Mg needs to be ionised to be absorbed by the body so if your stomach acid is low you will struggle to absorb it.
People who are taking anti-acid medicines such as proton pump inhibitors are at increased risk of Mg deficiency.
If you decide to try supplements buy a good quality one, a lot of cheaper supplements are magnesium oxide which is basically unabsorbable, a better option is magnesium citrate as it is already ionised.

I sometimes get those snack packets of nuts and I had one of cashew nuts earlier that said "high in magnesium" on the front . It was 60g by the way.

Nice. How are you finding it? Did you eat a lot of meat before?
I had some chicken a few months ago, by accident. It was served to me. I rarely have fake meat and thought, "damn, these chicken imitators are so realistic these days!"

^ flexitarian? Sounds good.

How do I get my B12? I kiss someone immediately after they've eaten steak. Get my tongue right between their teeth.

(I'm not vegan, so it's not a problem )

Ok that's one way of getting your B12. If they're eating marmite too, that's a second way.

The only pack of chicken left in the shop was this massive one, with about 10 thigh fillets. I had to eat them all myself. I feel so stuffed and fairly unwell now

Yeah, it was sudden onset (being vegetarian, not thrush).
What keeps me vegetarian? not sure.
