Re: What are you doing right now? (6)
^^ Thanks mate, yeah ignoring the negatives its quite an achievement for somebody like me. Worst case I will need to watch it in a police station and sign a thing to say that is what I recorded. That is incredibly unlikely as they should just be able to use it as is. I already signed to allow them usage.
Its more their mates I am worried about, I cant imagine they will all get locked up. Anyway, its just one more thing to float around my stupid brain, plenty more to keep it company. I should be able to fend it off with alcohol |

Re: What are you doing right now? (6)
Fretting. Came back from holiday last week to find that my gas had been switched off as there had been a reported escape. Called National Grid who came round and said there's evidence of carbon monoxide around the wall heater in my bedroom/living room (it's only the heater and the hob that are on gas) and damage to where the flue goes into the wall (the walls here are all crumbling and full of damp so makes sense).
Today told the letting agency who have now disconnected the heater because it's Immediately Dangerous and turned the gas back on. Hoping that's ok - if it's disconnected there can't be anymore leakages, right? Also a bit worried that the landlord will try and fob me off by 'repairing' it when it really needs replacing - I'd be surprised if it's any less than ten years older than me, and probably a lot more than that. It was listed as 'not to current standards' on the gas safety check even before this. Also, the letting agency were doing gas safety checks every few months when in previous flats I've only had them at around every six months - which to me suggests they knew it was on its way out? I don't know. Really glad I wasn't at home for the actual leak though, so didn't have to deal with the stress of that. |
