going to post four songs.

great thread, really enjoyed hearing some of those songs that brought those years back. I wanted to list some of the songs that really sparked the nostalgia bug in me. Whenever you hear those songs, really brings back memories of the early 2000s in particular, 2000-2004. Roger Sanchez - Another Chance, now that was a song that brought back the year 2000. One of the first songs of the decade that I heard and wanted to buy.

Travis - Side (2001)
note: this tune was being played a lot at the time on our music cable channel that year. this song and crystal from new order were being played a lot, and I enjoyed the music for some reason. queens of the stone age lost art was also being played a lot.

The Strokes - 12:51 (2003)
note: Room on Fire still a favourite album. Similar to Is This It in a way, but so many disgustingly catchy songs on both albums. A lot of memories attached to many of their songs. Playing their albums at parties, talking about their music a lot etc.

The Shins - Kissing the Lipless (2004)
note: Very cool song. Really catchy. guitars and melody will get stuck in your head. Brings back the year 2004 back to memory.

Boomkat - The Wreckoning (2002)
note: Not a big fan of pop music. But this was one of the few pop singles that hit the mainstream that was different to the usual pop themes. There was something a bit darker and authentic about the music, has some really cool sampling going on. And a memorable vocal melody.

Are the Noughties retro now? **** me I'm getting old. Young people these days don't know how to 'rock' and ****ing 'roll'. Not like in the good old days of the noughties. The Iraq war! Does anyone remember that? We knew how to rock then, and how to illegally invade a foreign country. Not like kids these days. Am I right? Probably not. Probably talking a load of shite. Hey ho.
