To me according to that list SA just looks like shyness times ten.
Well apart from not getting panic attacks I'd say I was SA. |

SA with fecking bells on
does anyone else get the "fight or flight" impulse, i.e. when cornered your insticts take over and as it says in the questionaire "desire to run away", I get that but its more impulsive and based on instinct rather than a desire and also get the impulse to slap someone when cornered too (obviously I dont its just an impulse) |

Well I ticked every box there, so I'm both. great! how happy that makes me (not)
I hate panic attacks. I rarely get them but they're so embarrassing. so you panic, then get embarrassed that you're panicing so panic even more. |

Re: For anyone whos not sure if theyre shy heres a comparison with social anxiety
Its really quite a subtle difference according to their definition.
I think it boils down to the idea that IF shy you basicaly feel socially incompetent SA you feel socially incompetent plus some extra panic and before and after the event anxiety. The SAer in addition feels that others will readily exploit and look down on or be amused etc by their social incompetence. The shy just have some worries about their apparent social incompetence but not the highly negative SA concept of what they think others think of them. |
