Re: How are you feeling physically?
^^Oh no Tubbs, the horrible realisation of inevitability
I'm feeling absolutely shattered after my 3rd (4th? I dunno now) migraine in just over a week. I bloody hate hormones! I'm sat just folding and sorting clothes atm and even that feels like I need a nap to recover. |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
I've got a twitchy eye. I'm choosing not to blame the fact I stare at a screen all day every day while drinking nothing but coffee, and instead chalk it up to just being one of life's mysteries...

Re: How are you feeling physically?
I'm feeling as rough as... I don't even know what's rough.
I just woke up, touched my cheek and it felt like I'd be slimed by Slimer. My entire cheek was covered in slimy snot! Bleughhh. I feel really bad because I think I'm going to have to let people down and cancel weekend plans. |

My sinuses are really painful at the moment. It feels like someone is permanently squeezing my face. It's exhausting.

Re: How are you feeling physically?
I have a very sore throat and it hurts when I gulp. Also I get very feverish and hot at night.
I was drinking water all night but still my tongue felt like it was going to stick to the roof of my mouth. Also the bump behind my left ear feels tender and swollen, and I've been getting swellings in the left side of my neck. I've been feeling like this for over two weeks now. Does it ever end? |

Wow, you've been ill for quite a while now haven't you? Do you think you should see a doctor maybe? Is it at all possible you have glandular fever?!

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^ it's possible.
I keep phoning my local GP every morning and getting trapped in their terrible phone system. I did get through to someone who said the earliest face to face consultation I could get was next Thursday. So I tried to get through to a phone consultation but gave up after another fifteen minutes of barely moving forward in the queue. Apparently I should use their online service but I'm either not registered or forgot my password and to fix either of those things I have to go and talk to a receptionist in person. And my NHS app account recently closed itself because I hadn't been using it... Anyone remember when you could just go and see a GP? |

Oh no, the dreaded phone system, what a load of unnecessary palaver! You'll have to keep trying to call i guess |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
@ al - I can't a shake what I have either. As soon as I start to feel a smidgen better, I start to feel really bad again!
I've had enough now, so went to see a pharmacist today and she's given me Sudafed. Honestly, go to the pharmacist they're so good. They'll advise you about medicines and tell you if you need to speak to a GP. Sorry that's obvious everyone knows that I'm just trying to encourage you to go, if that makes sense! Quote:

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^ thanks Biscuits - though I already went and they offered me Strepsils.
which help a bit but are hardly going to knock it out of the park! I'm just annoyed at how much time I have wasted trying to get over this stupid thing. Time I could have been doing almost anything if I wasn't ill. I'm probably going to lose another weekend to feeling like crap, and possibly an Easter holiday if it doesn't clear off sharpish. Hope we both get well soon! |

Strepsils! Man. I find that fresh ginger, a wedge of lemon and honey in boiling water is really helpful for throats. Apparently there is a lot of people having 3 week+ illnesses that won't clear. Last year, I had strep throat and they gave me antibiotics for it. |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
For the last couple of months the fingers on my right hand have felt stiff and achy when I move them. My brain has concluded that this can only mean chronic arthritis and my hands will simply be gnarled claws before I'm 50.

Re: How are you feeling physically?
Anxious Londoner. The swelling on your neck and night sweating are symptoms of Lymphoma. Its probably not that but maybe get a few blood tests.
I was dismissed by my surgery for 3 months before being diagnosed with breast cancer. |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
Absolutely shattered, my joints have been very achey lately, my right hip and my knees particularly,
I'm having to cover my garage roof just now, it's a double garage flat roof, that the neighbour isn't able to help me with, So I'm having to drag big sheets of 18mm plywood up onto the roof and arrange them in place and then screw them all down, then I'll have to drag 12 or 13 sheets of metal corrugated roof sheets up there and arrange them all and screw them down,.. I could have just about managed this in the past, but in this heat and in my present physical condition, I'm feeling like I'm going to need a week's holiday after this just to recover lol, I think throwing painkillers at the problem really isn't the answer any more, I seriously need to start moving about a lot more after work in the evenings and maybe taking up yoga or pilates or something to free my aching stiff body up a bit more, I can't go on like this, |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
^ have you tried a foam roller. I find that helps unfortunately I'm usually to lazy to use it.
That and soaking in a hot bath with this stuff https://www.notino.co.uk/kneipp/arni...with-minerals/ I also take ibuprofen and paracetamol most days but like you say they don't do much Good luck with the roof |

Cheers BFG I was actually leaning against a railing at the weekend and just then thought "ah, a foam roller might help" as I could feel some of the tension easing off as I sat on it Cheers Man,.. I was sealing all the plywood joints tonight with mastic and going to do a thick PVA wash tomorrow night after work,. (think I'm kind of putting off installing the metal roof by dragging out all the prep work lol) |

Re: How are you feeling physically?
I second that, I had a stomach ulcer caused by nsaid drugs when I first had slipped discs in my back, it was horrible.
They can also damage kidneys if you use them long term. I wouldn’t recommend using nsaids except for very occasional incidents. I am also feeling really achy and my knees, back and hips are hurting all the time . Yoga is great for helping keep pain free @Mr Nobody. I was doing much better this time last year when I was much more active in general, doing yoga most days and trying couch to 5k. I have been sat down over the winter a lot more than usual, because of doing my MA, and then once a week carrying a heavy back pack to uni. My knees have been painful for the first time in my life and I went to the physio who confirmed that it’s just de-conditioning from sitting so much, then carrying something heavy when my muscles are weak. He gave me exercises but I struggled to get motivated. I have started yoga again last week, but as yet still just very achy every day I also need to loose about two stone, which would definitely help my knees, but giving up my full fat coconut yoghurt, coffee and cake, endless snacks…is proving tricky. |
