Do you think your neighbours think you are strange?
Do you sometimes keep overthinking it since you don't get along with none of them, barely awkwardly saying hi back, etc..?

Re: Do you think your neighbours think you are strange?
Get on well with our neighbours, if anything we're the normal ones compared to them.

Re: Do you think your neighbours think you are strange?
Next door to the right I blank them. To the left, she’s Irish and gets drunk a lot. The neighbour above them don’t really talk to, then the one after that friendly old lady with a dog, then the one after that is 2 younger neighbours who work as doctors or something, he’s alright.
Do they think I’m strange. Maybe. They see me going 8pm to the supermarkets to avoid people which is odd. And I’m rubbish at summer clothing. |

Even I think I'm strange! |

Re: Do you think your neighbours think you are strange?
More than likely. To what degree i wouldn't know. The elderly guy above me hardly goes out and i think he's strange. The girl below me is my age and hardly goes out and i think she's strange. I don't think strange is bad, just different. They seem similar to me. I don't know their backgrounds so i don't think much further than that. There's also across the hall and downstairs from her - across the hall is an elderly lady and she leads a quiet life and i think is in ill health. Downstairs from her is a single girl - seems a bit younger than me, comes and goes - i think she's about 'regular', though i can't really qualify that other then say she goes out more than the rest of us

Re: Do you think your neighbours think you are strange?
I think everyone thinks I'm strange. They're certainly not wrong either.
I hardly know my neighbours. I think I've barely spoken more than "alright" to most of them. The people opposite are kinda noisy at times, not particularly sociable, not that I make much of an effort either. The guy diagonally upstairs keeps having massive arguments with his missus which makes him sound like a complete cretin. The woman who lives directly above is attractive and friendly though. I like her. Though she has a husband and young baby. |

Re: Do you think your neighbours think you are strange?
The neighbours where I used to live (when I first found this forum and was agoraphobic) definitely thought I was strange - they used to monitor all my movements (not that there were many at that time) and report to the landlord, resulting in my eviction.
Here, I'm seen more as eccentric: the neighbours are friendly but I'm not one of them; I think they only chat to me to find out where I've been. |

Re: Do you think your neighbours think you are strange?
I think its normal to think that people around you consider you strange but what exactly does that mean?
We all lead different lives to each other! Before my cancer I never spoke to my neighbours. The guy opposite is from South America and has 2 children. He is lovely and has offered to help on lots of occasions. The woman downstailrs is 80 and often says she will come up and see me but never does. I find that odd and strange. I do like her. At the moment I have my mum staying so I think.that puts her off. I used to never talk to my neighbours but now I think its a nice thing to touch base with people! |

Re: Do you think your neighbours think you are strange?
I guarantee it.
I've never had a conversation with any of them. Instances of someone having a parcel of mine or me of theirs were years ago now, and those exchanges didn't involve anything more than "Could I have my parcel?" I did get a hand-delivered note inviting me to join their WhatsApp group when people pretended to care about each other during the first two weeks of the pandemic, which I ignored, and I sometimes wonder if it's still going or if they've ever spoken about me in it since I also ignored their invitations to two street parties and some BBQ party (we live very near a church and the way these invitations were written felt like some recruitment attempt anyway). One neighbour nodded at me yesterday as I was walking along the street and he was bringing his bin in, so he at least must be aware that I am his neighbour even though I've never spoken to him and don't think I'd seen him all year. |

Re: Do you think your neighbours think you are strange?
My SA brain says 'yes, all of them' because I can marshal at least one cringey interaction with every single person I'd recognise as a neighbour.
But I know I tend to assume the worst, so they mostly probably just think I'm reserved/quiet with a good athleisure-wear rotation. |

Of course they think I'm strange. Actually they are quite kindly here, our neighbours.

Probably, but they're not going to get in my face about it.

In my head, everyone thinks I'm strange. So yeah.
