camden pubs
Does anyone know of any decent pubs/bars in Camden to have a drink and conversation with someone. Somewhere that's not too dead but also not too loud

Re: camden pubs
When are you planning on being there?
Best pub in Camden is The World's End, but will be very busy and very loud on the weekend! We've had meets in Camden and usually end up at The Ice Wharf (Lloyds Bar) but only because it's big and I can also find a table! If you're looking for somewhere quieter, I'd suggest The Bucks Head (turn right out of Camden Town and walk for about 3mins) they do nice food there too (at least, they did a couple of years ago, not been there for a while) |

I was going to suggest The World's End too. Right next to the station which is useful. When I go to Camden I usually end up there. During the week there are a few people there, but it's reasonably quiet and you can have a conversation. They also do food and it's very large so have a good choice of seating. I can't say what it is like at the weekend though.

Re: camden pubs
If you want to have a conversation, don't go somewhere that blares loud music all the time. The World's End and the Black Heart are both extremely loud places, with rock music usually being blasted from the speakers at high volumes.
The Lock Tavern may be a bit quieter. Brewdog is alright provided you're in the basement - upstairs is very loud. The Ice Wharf is pretty empty on weeknights, but is a Wetherspoons. Go a bit further out (towards Regent's Park) and the Edinboro Castle is nice, but may be a bit cramped during the winter as about half the seating is out in the beer garden. (I've only been there during the summer.) This all assumes you're talking about going out in the evening or at the weekend. On weekdays, during the day, they'll all be relatively quiet. |

Did they rebuild The Hawley Arms after it burned down?

Re: camden pubs
Yep, it's open as usual. Not my favourite pub, though.
