Re: Article about Introverts - Psychologies magazine
I went off this magazine for a bit as I found after a few years it was repeating the same articles.
So glad to get introduced to it again through a really interesting article. I related to a lot of it, especially about faking extroversian and then getting burnt out. Its interesting that the woman in the example is early 30s as that's when i had my first major break down. I think I faked a lot of extort behaviour in my 20s at work as I found it was necessary in an environment that was increasingly based on networking and conferences as well as meetings. This coincided with open plan working and then hot desking which I've written about before on this forum. I eventually took redundancy last year because I couldn't cope any more. I wonder sometimes how i will cope in a new job. I think the experience of burn out in our 30s is really common. Anyway I scored 10/12 on the introvert test so there we go. I thought the coping strategies could have been developed a bit more. They seemed a bit basic to me. I have a few that are similar to those mentioned. Especially disappearing to the bathrooms when i need time out. |

Re: Article about Introverts - Psychologies magazine
Yes you're right Psychologies does tend to follow exactly the same format each month & can become a bit samey. I'm surprised they didn't tackle this subject ages ago, the article explained a few things about my behaviour & has helped me, I hope it helps others too
