hello, i am Lena 20 years old and international student studying in business in UK. i am very very shy norwegian girl!
 in hometown i suffered bad anxietys. here it only worse for me because i do not know anybody and feel very alone here. i still try an every day is new opportunity! happy to meet you all |

University (the early days) are always really difficult for everyone. So hopefully you can take some comfort in the fact that everyone will also be in a similar situation to you (nervous, anxious, shy). Also, for those moments when you are feeling a little anxious, I'm sure everyone here on the board will be happy to help. Chris x |

Hey Lena, welcome to the site! I have a Finnish friend who found the language barrier made her feel awkward about socialising for the first while, but she finds it easier now. When her own friend came over here to visit her, she sat at a different table in the pub because she was too shy to talk to us in English. So you're not alone, and hopefully things will get easier for you

Hey Lena. Just thought I'd comment as I'm a UK student who just started uni in Norway (Bergen) for a semester! I'm constantly in awe of how well people speak English here.
I think the UK and Norway are quite similar in many ways so hopefully you won't find it too hard to settle in
