Avatar pic wont change

Ok it seems when I signed up I put a pic of my face up as my avatar for some idiotic reason.

I would like to change it but I can't.

I tried uploading another and in the user CP it shows the new avatar but when I post something I see my face as my avatar instead! It won't go away! Its as though I am stalking myself.

Does everyone else see my face because I uploaded some Star Trek kinda thing there instead.

Your face isn't showing now. It's probably just because it was in your cache

I'm guessing you may be only selecting "edit profile picture" rather than "edit avatar" a little below that which is the pic you display when you post

Yes this is exactly right

I am supposed to be kind of tech savvy yet I think even my 90 year old Grandmother would have figured this one out before me :D
