If I had lots of money I'd buy my current car (Ford Fiesta) in nine different colours; the seven rainbow colours and black and white, and them park them all in a spectrum on my drive/street. Then I could pick whichever colour made me feel happiest each morning. I would literally be like this smiley:

I'd like a VW Golf diesel DSG auto. I've had a craving for an automatic car for years but these days they're as fuel efficient as a manual.

Other than that I want a 1970s/80s Rover SD1, a dream car from my childhood. I love the look of them and the powerful yet elegant sound of them. It's sad you never see them on the roads these days, all I have as a reminder is a Corgi toy version.

You just don't get elegant cars like that these days.

Wow! Although I'm surprised it didn't rust and fall apart in front of your very eyes.

Nice looking car but I do admit I dislike the the unclear plastic used for light covers on old cars.

My sister had a Daewoo Matiz from new for years and despite its tiny 0.8 engine it went reasonably well and she loved it.

You've made me just realise that they don't have them anymore - I just had to look up pictures of some newer cars! I think it was glass and was something to do with making the light stronger or reflection or something.

I had one of those, but not the sporty one, for a year or so (when my Golf MkII had a problem that took me that long to fix ).

Must say it was 100% reliable except that the wheels rusted and let the air out of the tyres all the time. I sold it to the owner of the local chinese restaurant and he had it for years after.

I'm no mechanic but from observation new cars seem to use a different more interesting looking type of light system and the lights seem more compact.

A lot of new cars have LED rear lights now. Hence all the fancy shaped light patterns in the rear lights - like these....

I find that LED brake lights can be very glary though. If you are waiting in a traffic queue at night behind a car with LED brake lights and the driver has his foot on the brake, it can be bloody horrible.

I think bmw do the best lights though

Bmw's seem to always date the best to me as they don't start to look any bit tacky, they just look well built. But German cars on the whole seem like the best designed cars which dont date in a bad way.
